Of course as nearly everyone has said it depends on the relationship but for me I like to know my slave is taking some initiative. For instance, should I be gone from the house and they have finished their instructions, I'd like them (based on what I've had them do before or expressed a liking to) to go ahead and do it to keep themselves busy. If they aren't sure then of course, they may ask when appropriate. Other times I like them to anticipate things that would please me. for instance, if I had a long stressful day, offering to brush my hair which I enjoy.

Most of the time however, I make the instructions and he follows them. I never give too much "freedom" which is the way we both like it.

Same here. One of my strong points is linear logic, so he frequently likes to bounce things off of me, even things pertaining to his business.

Indeed. Bless his heart, he often overlooks things/doesn't think things through thoroughly, and he knows this--so he will enlist my help to make sure he hasn't missed anything and to receive any helpful suggestions I might have.

my Mistress expects me to take initiave in getting things done or doing things without being told to like dishes or cleaning. my Mistress values my independent ideas and thoughts. it often leads to intresting conversations, sometimes She will ask my opinion or ideas and then make decisiond that are followed.

Ha, well. That is certainly another way to put it. I will admit with no shame: he's not exactly the brightest crayon in the box and has problems with his memory. So it's become a staple for him to rely on me for such things quite often.
