I'm trying to call his mother we've been trying since 10 and it's now 3:30. We are calling the right number, it is in service, it has not been shut off or changed. At first on my phone it was the call can not be completed as dialed please hang up and try your call again, then it was the call can not be completed right now, and then I tried my parents phone and same thing. then just now, hours and hours after the first attempt I got an automated message saying I need a long distance carrier code , and I then tried on their phone since I do not have long distance, even though, technically she's in Roseville and I am in Sacramento. Same thing.The call can not be completed as dialed. It's happened before, you try to call someone for hours on end, and you keep getting automated messages that the call can not be completed as dialed please hang up and try your call again, or that the call can't be completed right now.

sounds like you're dialing the number incorrectly. That's the only time I've ever had that happen...or you no longer have phone service. Sure you haven't been disconnected? Or the other person hasn't been disconnected? Or be more careful about the number you're dialing.

I'd say you don't have long distance service.

LittleWonder, no we dialed it directly off of caller Id, but Daddy says her phone isn't working. He went to see her tonight.

Because computers are designed to drive people crazy with frustration, misunderstanding and all in all any other sadistic torture it can get away with in its attempts to gain control of people. Just say'in -- and no i didn't spend an hour on the phone with a bloody hospital trying to get a damn person on the phone today. angel

I'd call the phone company and ask them instead of us........but that's just me. I go to the source of the problem, not here.

Sometimes the credit card company calls with a please hold message, so I do not hang up on them type of calls all the time, but I am not patient in telling people I am not interested if it's a spam call, and do not even let them get a word in edgewise when I find out it's spam. The sac bee people called, and once they uttered hello I am........ with the sac bee how are you? I said I am not interested, please put me on the do not call list, and promptly hung up on them.

Topping, I have received this message more than once when trying to call another cell phone number and then later it worked...I think it has to do with problems with transmission for various reasons.
