"Cross your fingers, Cross your toes, Cross your eyes And cross your nose." That last part always seemed a little absurd to me, I only have one nose. It COULD be a misunderstanding of "cross your eyes across your nose" but nobody needs that additional instruction...

A round of drinks is it? Well then, I'm your fellow then, now aren't I. That reminds me ... So I'm the only one in the local the other day, and this fellow comes in and walks over and parks hisself next to me and asks if he can buy me a pint. "Well of course" says I, and then he asks me if I'm from Sligo or am I just visiting. I tells him, no, I'm a local and he brightens up and says "You don't say, I'm from round here too! Let's have another round to Sligo!" "Of course" says I, and we do. Then he says "I'm wondering, where is it you were born?" So I tells him, "Well its from Coolaney that I hail" "I can't believe it!" he exclaims "I was born in Coolaney as well! Let's have another drink to good old Coolaney." "Of course," says I, and we do. Then he pipes up again, "Now the curiosity has got me, what school did you go to, by chance?" "Well, St. Eustace, class of '92" "Well bless my soul," he exclaims, "That's unbelievable! I went to St. Eustace as well but I graduated in '93! Let's have another round for St. Eustace." "Of course," says I, and we do. About that time, old Joseph McCarthy wanders in and sits down. He orders a drink and asks the landlord, "So, what would be happening here this morning?" And the landlord answers, "Not much of interest, just Connor having a drink with his brother."

And a toast. I tried to drink the toast, but i couldn't. It was too dry and it got stuck in my throat. I should have remembered to butter it first. pam

If you want absurd so far this morning... My kid has broke my glasses & I can't see to find my other pair. Going to have to ask a neighbour to superglue the things back together when he wakes up so boy is looking out the window to see when he opens his curtains. Cos I can't see.
