All the sites have public safety volunteers with back-ups in the crowd. We learned our lesson when that asshole from that Republican Blog and the guy who used to shag dirty jobs for Breitbart down in DC. So now, in most cases, the punks are quietly walked off or surrounded so that whatever they try is neutralized by people who have been previously identified to police as having that function.

anyone walk by the occupiers in Bmore lately?

I walked by them a few days ago.....and I hate to sound like this but.....they all looked like a bunch of bong hitting hippies with long hair and playing frisbee and trying to sell their "art" on the lawn lol. One guy was holding a sign that read "Homer Simpson is the 99%"....eerr...is that supposed to make me feel sympathetic? LOL

Pretty much everywhere they represent  the people that you live around anyway.
Perhaps the only educated socially concerned folk in 'Bmore' are a bunch of bonghitting hippies. Bart doesn't do much for me either[:D]

Here in Erie, we took over the very area where the homeless and the drunks usually hang out.  We have several signs around the park that it is a 100% drug-and alcohol-free zone and that disruptive people will be asked to leave.  We have the support of the police in both the occupy movement and in keeping the square orderly.  And we are in a perfect area, with city hall and the police station right across the street to the south; the US court house to the south east and the county court house to the west.  We settled into a gazebo in the center of the park, where we have city-provided electricity, lights and wifi.  And there will be no arrests so long as the occupiers remain peaceful, we don't litter and we keep the park clean. We have been and without the using the trash cans around the park--we have our own.  We have even picked up all the cigarette butts around the park.  It has never been cleaner.

Yeah, the only one I've actually seen was in Asheville, NC. It could have doubled for a gathering of the crystal and bong crowd for sure.

I'll be in New York next week. Maybe I'll stop by and check out the origins.

FR When was the last time you went camping on a city street in your sunday or even workday best?
Let me tell you you dont wear your sunday or a power suit best when you camp out in the middle of a city, after more than a couple of days, you dress for comfort and ease of access, AND you try to keep warm, together, humor, friendship and togetherness.
Just keep looking down on them with your perfect assumptions that they arent normal americans
