SternSkipper -> Still Don't Get It? (10/22/2011 12:02:57 AM)

The Fed is supporting Bank Of America and its $75 trillion in derivatives bets. If BOA crashes, the American government/taxpayers will be left to clean up the mess. The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur explains from the Occupy Wall Street protests in New York City.

Course you two need to figure out out  that it takes LOTS of Soros' and Buffets to cover 75 Trilllion in gmabling bets .... It's the whole or a substantial part of the 1%

he doesnt need to cover it, he has hedged his bets so the downside risk is low and he makes out like a bandit if B of A doesnt go bankrupt... I wonder exactly what input he had into B of A pulling this stunt and getting the Fed to agree to cover it.. Imo, Buffett was the architect..

Termyn8or -> RE: Still Don't Get It? (10/22/2011 1:13:50 AM)

No need for an article, I got it a long time ago, so did one of the people who wrote something, something in the late 1700s. Something about if we allowed banks to do certain things our decendants would grow up homeless in the land we fought for. Some bullshit like that.

It must be another forgery because the other forgeries I qoute are also true. Look at the fucking outcome Man. Look at where this is headed. Can't you think ahead ? What will be the final result of all this, and in fact what was the final outcome of the revolutionary war ? Were we enemies with England after we suppoisedly kicked their ass ? Hell no, there were fucking student exchange programs and shit. Bullshit, that war was nothing but a show. However instead of paying the actors.......... Just like today. The actors pay with their lives.

I get it, and I got it years ago. This whole thing isn't even the class war I thought it was not too long ago, because the war hasn't started. The people at the bottom are too stupid to see the enemy, if they weren't there would be a war, but there isn't.

Even in the early days of industrialisation you could see it. Henry Ford, anti Jew or not was a very intelligent Man and actually got into the game, and think of the railroads, which were the reason for the original Sherman Antitrust act. Think of the REAL causes of the civil war, and who helped who. Other countries WERE involved, what did they have at stake ? MONEY. The Louisiana PURCHASE, the land grabs off the "Indians", selling them whiskey and shit. Government is a commercial interest now, and has been for quite some time.

So look at what has happened. Now when I say government, get the US of Asshole company out of your head. The government is BP, the fed, GM, the big banks, ADM, Pfizer and the pharms. Those are government and they don't just rule the US, they rule just about any "country/state" that isn't getting bombed and/or their leaders assassinated. DO YOU GET IT ?

How did Qaddafi stay in power so long ? How does Chavez stay in power ? How did Chavez who get deposed by a CIA supported coup regain power in 48 fucking hours ? Because those "dictators" DO have popular support. When Saddam knew the US was coming, he distributed guns to the average Achmed in the neighborhoods.

And media is the main tool. They tell you this guy is a dictator. They tell you of WMDs. They tell you he is gassing his own people and after waste has been layed in their land by US, we find out he didn't do it, the Iranians did. He attacked Kuwait, does anyone know why ? He wasn't an idiot, Kuwait was crossdrilling and stealing a fortune. When they invaded Kuwait, they didn't have to promise their soldiers the moon. Those people wouldn't believe it, but ours do.

Yes I get it, I got it, do you ? Fucking people talk about a Presidential debate like it is important or something. I'd rather watch reruns of Hogan's Heroes because there is more reality. No matter what they say the same shit is going to happen. Money people will take more money. THAT IS WHAT THEY DO. All the rest of this shit is a waste of fucking time.

Anyone over 35 should know that by now.

What IS it about your obsession with Buffett? You might be putting irreparable scars on sanity's face as you fight for the attention, keep in mind.

Is Larry Blankfein not sexy enough for you? Is Hank Paulson not sexy enough for you? Three trillion tax dollars, right there. Are the Koch Brothers not tingling the right spot for you there? A constant siphon of tax dollars, think of that as you look at your payroll deductions, because that's exactly where it's going.

What are your criteria here?

Look, if Buffett made too much money semi-legitimately, with out stealing anywhere near as much tax dollars as the others mentioned did, and still came out better than the rest of them combined, then so be it.

Are you actually so enamoured of tax-sucking losers as that? that you so much hate the guy that stomped them with a business model not based on government hand-outs?

Here ya go, sweety, "Stand By Your Men," so as to suit the occasion here:

Government must support the wall street gambling.  If they don't, we may see massive unemployment, home foreclosures, and a wrecked economy...Oh ! Wait.  We already have all of that.

I hesitate to mention this tazzy, because it might make me look ancient or something, but Tammy Wynette was the BIG thing among the TV, CD, etc. crowd at the dance and local talent places long before Bette Midler filled that role. Five or six different gay/lez night clubs in a medium sized Southern city in the mid-seventies; yes, I know I'm freaking out people here already. I'll quit while I'm behind, thank you.

Almost like telling people that most of the B-52s were from Athens, Georgia, or something.

Forget the money, since you are obviously incapable of understanding simple news reports to explain that, but ...

Who was the architect of over 120,000 civilian deaths, and counting, put aside the ongoing cost from that time till who knows when?

Oh right, not a concern there. Sorry to have troubled.

Evolution is vomiting heavily here.

I'm almost thinking the other way.

I'm starting to think that the 35 + crowd are a lost cause. Too much of that ideology crap. Even some 28-29 yr. olds.

The younger crowd don't know as much history, but from what I've seen, ideology poisons history at every opportunity, (it's amazing how clueless the older crowd are on even the basics, come to think of it) and my focus would be to keep young folks as far away from any ideology as possible. Not the most realistic approach, but I see a little glimmer here and there.

It should say 54, thanks for the reminder to update.

Oh, were you saying anything that showed you actually got the gist of what was being said, or that dealing with plenty, far too many, actually, of 35+ yr. old ideologues could have led me to such conclusion? or ...

Oh, that's right.

Never mind.

Oh, I get it.

You watch a yutube video, where a reporter is throwing around scare figures, painted in the worst possible light.  According to him, just two banks own half the world's wealth, and if their "bet" goes well, they collect, while if it tanks, the US taxpayer foots the bill.

I've said before, Glass Steagall needs to be changed back, so as not to allow this type of transactions by banks.

Which has crap all to do with what age people are.

That you are what you besmirch?

Sounds cultist to me... like give me all your young so that I might train them properly.

I'm curious ed, why you so often find it necessary to insult the intelligence of others? Serious question.
