well i don't think i looked like a fool at all, given that from the date i joined the site you hadn't posted the words "class warfare" once until the ows shit started. when you said you had used them before i checked, and you were right you had used it several times a few years before i joined. so i acknowledged that and apologized. maybe that's a fool to you, but it seems like a reasonable person to me, but you're entitled to see shit however the fuck you want to if it makes you feel better about yourself.

It wasn't that you weren't aware of what had gone before you joined us, Hannah, but the confrontational, accusatory approach you took. As you did again here. Now that's all well and good, and I wouldn't ask you for a moment to not be who you are, any more than I would suggest that the OWS folks be forced to shut up and go away, but you ain't special.

My OP was bullshit? Let me suggest you never visit the website for The Onion, lest your pretty little head explode.

Why would an anarchist be opposed to Occupy? What's to support? More power for the government? Dismissal of individual responsibility? Increased dependency? An expanded welfare state? The entitlement mentality? All you have is a vague, stupid hope that somehow they might be co-opted to your goal of bringing down "the system," and I can assure you that the Democrats are much better at co-opting than you'll ever be.

Seriously, you should be backing the Tea Party, if you want to amuse yourself by dabbling in the politics of my country. They are far closer to your stated ideals, and when it comes to bringing on the revolution, they have a lot more guns.

I know enough about anarchy, to be completely disinterested. I reject, on principle, any school of political thought that suggests humans would be much better off if we were all unrestrained wolves, or living as simple sheep. I also reject any notion that our natural goodness would shine through, and automatically produce some unknown "better," if only the current system burned.

My suspicion is that, despite the philosophical gulf, you think of the OWS as being more people like you, and that is the actual basis for your support.

That depends. I'm of the belief that if it isn't stated as the role of the Feds then it belongs to the states. This means the Feds should ONLY be dealing with the military (common defense) and only those other things specifically spelled out in the Constitution as its job (I'm tired and I don't feel like going through the Constitution to name them). The rest it is up to the States to either regulate or not according to their State Constitutions. I believe in subsidiarity (the lowest form of government does what is needed (versus wanted)).

As far as the feds go....no it is not their job to bail out large corporations. Never was. The Founding Fathers would be rolling over in their graves to see what has become of the nation that they founded.


The preamble to the Constitution:  We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish
Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the
general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do
ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Notice the words--"PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE"?  What does that mean if not ensuring that all citizens are provided for with the basic necessities of human life?

Government has a proper role to play YngBlk. It's a matter of degree, and where we draw the lines of limitation.
