More than one-third of the country supports the Wall Street protests, and even more – 58 percent – say they are furious about America's politics.

The number of angry people is growing as deep reservoirs of resentment grip the country, according to the latest Associated Press-GfK poll.

Care to add besides stating the obvious?

It's happened. They have OccupyMarines, Occupy Houston, and even an Occupy in my home town. There is a revolution and it does indeed have dancing.

To Add:

quote:

More generally, many more Americans – 58 percent – say they are furious about the country's politics than did in January, when 49 percent said they felt that way. What's more, nearly nine in 10 say they are frustrated with politics and nearly the same say they are disappointed, findings that suggest people are deeply resentful of the political bickering over such basic government responsibilities as passing a federal budget and raising the nation's debt limit.

Bickering is putting it lightly.

I am getting a kick however at this EFFORT and it's a big one to steer us toward DC . They're missing the fucking point altogether. We'll get to DC en masse' and when we do, we'll be the other fucking shoe.
And this article is really no exception ... USA Today Poll (who are the biggest readers of USA today? Business folk in urban areas mostly and that Fox is the largest citing news source at utilizing USA Today?... Hint the poll is a reader's poll).
It's remarkable how little the opposition understands. But it's immaterial at this point. And one thing that's a central part of the conversation is sheer amusement at the amount of energy outfits like the tea party are wasting with their snipey little fucking sock-puppets they keep sending onto communications sites for OWS. It's like they think 'we're coming for them' or some fucked up paranoid notion like that. we're only 'coming for them' in terms of  perhaps opposing their political views and seeking the restoration of representative government.
Can't have it both ways. If you want a Democratic Republic, you are essentially agreeing to a majority rule not a Corporate oligarchy where Grover Norquist comes waltzing in OUTNUMBERING _YOU_ with a virtualized voter priority of a million to one, and tells you how the folks in Weston, Ma, or Dana Point think the country should be run.
Fuck that, one person, one vote no more kick out the fucking cor4porate lobbyists.

If a con`s only counter to an embarrassing fact is that a lefty pointed it out, they`ve lost the game, the debate`s over and everyone`s gone home.

There is a lot of intelectual cowardice committed here with this.

Back in the day
you were a neo-con
And you had the world on a string
Now the years have come and gone
On the streets you walk along
looking back to a better day
Cause you're old and in the way

Old and in the way
That's what I heard them say
They used to heed the words you'd say
But that was yesterday
Gold will turn to gray
Youth will fade away
They'll never care about you
Cause you're old and in the way

They're soft food days are coming and they wanted the rug under them to last JUSt a little bit longer. Too bad they had a contract with selfishness. Ain't my fucking problem if they see a rebirth of participatory government or anarchy. I would imagine either one is scary.

The mistake the protestors are making though is supporting left wing politicians who want to spend even more money that we don't have on entitlement programs. I might remind you that Obama could have easily cancelled NAFTA to bring back jobs in the first 2 years of his administration with a democratic Congress, and he didn't even mention it.

Lucy,

The graphic you've presented is incorrect with stating that the Republicans have introduced no bills with regard to job creation.  A few weeks ago, I posted the following right after President Obama gave his Jobs Speech:

So very true treasure,on the other hand repeated and persistent use of obstructionist tactics while offering nothing of substance to the debate makes what the President said....and what I have repeated a few times here too damm true.
Should the Republican party do nothing more than play fiddle in the midst of this economic crisis than they must, and will be perceived as such, accept responsibility for said crisis.

See... this is the issue, Mike.  Do you really think that the Republicans are "playing fiddle" and doing nothing but obstructing the Democrats?  Do you believe they've offered nothing of their own?

If you do, then you are sadly uninformed.  A simple search of the Library of Congress will pull up the legislation that has been introduced throughout this year.  The following is a list of the pieces that, from their title, sound like they may address jobs and economic reform and were sponsored by Republicans*.  These are just from the first two pages of the search.

21st Century Readiness Act
Sponsored by Rep Tom Petri (R-WI)

3
-D, Domestic Jobs, Domestic Energy, and Deficit Reduction Act of 2011
Sponsored by Rep Rob Bishop (R-UT)

3-D, Domestic Jobs, Domestic Energy, and Deficit Reduction Act of 2011
Sponsored by Sen David Vitter (R-LA)

Leahy-Smith America Invents Act
Sponsored by Rep Lamar Smith (R-TX)

American Competitiveness Act of 2011
Sponsored by Richard Hanna (R-NY)

American Energy and Western Jobs Act
Sponsored by Sen John Barrasso (R-WY)

American Job Builders Tax Reform Act of 2011
Sponsored by Rep Wally Herger (R-CA)

American Job Protection Act
Sponsored by Rep Charles Boustany (R-LA)

American Job Protection Act
Sponsored by Sen Orrin Hatch (R-UT)

*So that no one accuses me of overlooking the work of our Democratic Congressmen and Congresswomen, there are just as many pieces sponsored by left, as well.

The point being, that there are loads of reforms and propositions that have been introduced by both parties to address this economic crisis.  The ones introduced by the Republicans are no closer to being passed than the ones by the Democrats.

Are the Democrats obstructing the bills sponsored by Republicans?  Should they immediately go along with anything introduced by the Republicans whether they agree or not?  If they don't, are they then obstructing and "playing fiddle"?

You know... these representatives are put into office to represent their constituents.  That includes constituents that you don't agree with, and ones I don't agree with.  We can't just ignore that there is a fundamental difference in opinion between groups of people within the United States on just exactly how to address this crisis and just what grows an economy.

The idea of compromise is great, but often it isn't an option.  Say for example that you don't want children and your wife does.  You both feel strongly about it and there is no option of dissolving the relationship.  So just how do you compromise?

Well, guess what... some of the decisions that we ask our representatives to make are just a complicated and just as life-altering.

To extend the metaphor from above, it's like the Republicans don't want children, but the Democrats are saying let's get pregnant now and figure out how to deal with it after the baby is born.

It also isn't always a matter of obstructionism by the opposing party that causes delay... legislation does take time.  Granted, too much time when in the midst of a crisis that is declining as rapidly as this one, but there you are.  Our biological clock is ticking.

Does this mean that nearly two thirds of the Country oppose the Wall Street protests, and almost half are content with America's politics?

21st Century Readiness Act

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s112-1175&tab=summary

Talks about school age children and getting them ready for higher education.

Leahy-Smith America Invents Act (AIA)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leahy-Smith_America_Invents_Act

The Act switches the U.S. patent system from a "first to invent" to a "first to file" system, eliminates interference proceedings, and develops post-grant opposition.

Thats nice, but its not putting people to work.

American Competitiveness Act of 2011 - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to reduce the maximum income tax rate on corporations to 25% of corporate taxable income exceeding $50,000. Provides a special rule for any taxable year beginning in 2011 by establishing a maximum 30% rate for corporate taxable income exceeding $75,000.

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h112-609&tab=summary

American Energy and Western Jobs Act

To provide for the rescission of certain instruction memoranda of the Bureau of Land Management, to amend the Mineral Leasing Act to provide for the determination of the impact of proposed policy modifications, and for other purposes.

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=s112-1027

I agree Im skeptical these days... and I freely admit to that. Can you show me how these are more than tax breaks for companies?
