As a piercer I can tell you that, while people vary, this is the norm: Strong pain during (mine were excruciating, for personal info), then less. Aching, swelling and possible sharp pain for about a week or so. Basic healing (where jewelry can Carefully be switched) done in about 8 weeks. No touching except with washed hands, no mouth on, no nothing until this point is confirmed. Full healing taking 12-18months. During this time expect to sometimes still have lymph crusties and to experience sharp pains if hit against something, pulled on, etc.
