To OP, Yeah, most forum threads on any site will derail a bit. The more people, the easier it is to derail. Don't worry about it, if you've got a question that really needs answering, sorry to say, your going to have to fight to keep your thread on topic. That's just how forums work.

A pissing contest is a pretty common way to derail a topic.
