At occupy erie, we will gladly feed the homeless, so long as they are there at meal times: 8am, noon and 4pm. Thing is, that is the times when most of the shelters and soup kitchens also serve. We do have a lot of homeless stopping by at all hours of the day and night looking for a snack or a cup of coffee--they usually get it too. A few times people were caught stuffing their pockets with apples and granola bars and they were asked not to come back. One or two items is ok, pockets full is not.

Oddly enough, Raleigh was named the best city to live in by Businessweek.... and until just this month when Meeker retired, it was ran by a Democrat who had been in office since 2001.
