Well for example I doubt the "declaration" plank for Canada will contain things like term limits for US legislators, or national health care, or bring all troops home and then provide for veterans, ditto for the UK or the others in the EU or Asia. Well those are pretty much given due to differences in our individual paths over time and things that already exist. quote:
As for the second, the libertarians have been busy boys, and the "Anglo-Saxon" banking system itself is about the same and usually has much the same cast of characters running it across the Anglo-sphere. A Commonwealth citizen isn't looking at much difference in who the players are and what they do, any more then a mechanic needs to relearn internal combustion engines from the ground when he switches from a working on a Ford to a Honda. So they basically are aiding Canadian Libertarians form their foundation in the movement? That's weird, cause in the US we've noticed a rather different behavior from them. Seems in most sites anyway, if they detect there's no 'votes' to harvest they just kinda disappear, leaving behind one or two to hold up the signs to cars or new people who arrive. Their participation has been from everyone I've talked to, rather disappointing. quote:
The libertarians (and the Greens) have been trying to reach and teach people for years, about the financial system. They are pretty well on top of just how it really functions along with what is wrong in that area, though you might not necessarily agree with all their solutions. And B.C. does have its own little branch (BCLP). So they're using the movement for their ends. Well I guess that's alright so long as they don't try to impose their will from a minority position on the rest of the group. There's an asshole trying to do that tonight from behind the scenes in Zucotti ... he won't last long. Where do you think the "Abolish the Fed" part of the declarations came from? I would guess not one person in ten could have told what the Fed actually did a few years ago, let alone coherently explain to their family and acquaintances how national and international banks are now raking in record profits while the rest of the worlds economy is on fire and sinking. This movement is way broader based then you think, both locally and internationally . Only the fools and tools of the corporate arms of the various political parties, are trying to make it seem partisan. Of course anyone who sees their roles and paints themselves as gatekeepers and Mullahs of the OWS are likely part of the problem. You have a fine populist movement in motion, and it has happened number of times in USAsian history. This one is attractive enough to play offshore, but will have to develop some local relevance to survive there. Those British are not camped out at St. Paul's to get national health care in the US, or set term limits for US senators, they have enough fires in their own house right now.
