i was going through profiles , looking at P/peoples pics and reading when it occured to how many Men , who were out of shape and looked like they had no self control (putting the fork down) asking for women who kept themselves in great shape. i tend to think its a bit unrealistic. asking something of some else when You clearly cant give back equal "imho" is kinda strange.

Being delusional about one's options isn't limited to men and physical condition, I'm afraid. And it often seems like the rule, rather than the exception.

Obviously it's a matter of personal preference, so why not just say that? "I prefer ...blahblahblah" I have particular likes and dislikes in a mans physical appearance but if something absolutely turned me off, I would state it plainly. Even if what I like is a contridiction to myself.

I think it is perfectly normal. They are looking for someone to complement them, their other halves, the yin to their yang, the slim to their flab. And someone he can take out to dinner, and when she can't eat the whole portion she can shovel it onto his plate. That's love!

I'm happy to report two things as of today:

1) I'm down to my goal weight. I'm a normal BMI. Took a long time, many, many years in fact. I laughingly credit the wonder diet "Eat people, not food"

2) I'm officially indecent. Knew it all along.

. I'm down 35lbs but still have some to go, and Master is down 50 but has a ways to go too.

It's a bit funny, isn't it? but surely you don't think this is strictly a male thing? I've more than once been rejected by women who were 'under-employed' because I don't make enough money, and twice, after financilly supporting someone was told she was moving on because I wasn't 'ambitious enough'( I tend to read that as 'don't make enough money' also.

I also have an ex who was about thirty pounds over (by her own reckoning, and 30 is a fair bit on a 5'0" woman) suggest that I should start working out, as she liked 'really muscluar men'- and I think I am reasonalbly fit<g>.

I think alot of people don't give much thought as to what they are bring to the table when they talk about what they want...

I think it was dateline the other day that did a show on how one of the last frontier out there is weight discrimination. I get it all time.. geesh.. your perfect,your sexy , your fun, and witty, if only you were thin. Never mind the fact that they have a side part, and a pot belly. There seems to be some hidden code that if they have $ we are supposed to fall at their feet and want them regardless. The other area I get grief over all the time is .. the fact that I'm a Single mom. That is worse than having the plague in some peoples book. I've actually had subs ask me to choose between them and my kid. OF course I choose my daughter, and quickly sent them packing.

I meet people in all shapes and sizes and care more about what is between the ears then the package.. now don't get me wrong I love a pretty package, but have found that rarely brains and beauty co-exist. It does on occassion, and regardless of a persons weight, shape, health they can take care of themselves and present them self neat and well groomed.. But I'll take a pot belly that makes me laugh and enjoys doing the dishes, and discussing politics over a pretty boy who doesn't know what is going on in the world, and has to be told were the soap is.. anyday of the week!

As for bringing to the table what I want.. it is simple.. I want REAL.. Fun, Healthy, and balance between thier submission and my domiance in all areas of life. As for what I want in them.. intellegent, clean, respectable, with a great smile and a beautiful heart.

In my 20s, I was one superficial chica. But then again, with the body I had, I could be. I always have had to work extra hard to keep weight down and it was way more possible when I clubbing 3 nights per week and on a student grocery budget (which meant 2 meals a day if I wanted to go clubbing 3 night per week).

Now that I’m in my 30s, I have a full-time office job, I have full-time studies and I believe sitting down in front of a computer literally makes one’s ass get wider! So I’ve begun to take matters into my own hands, more for my health then anything else.

It has taken me some time to get comfortable with my strong Rubenesque figure especially with all the media telling me I should be a size 2. But as I get more and more comfortable with it, I notice that people around me are too. It really is about the image one projects.

I will never lie and say I would like someone beautiful, but you know, in the end it doesn't matter to me. Fortunately for me I don't mind a little flab on a man and I like a little bit of a belly on a woman. On woman should have curves. It's funny because i can walk around all day and feel okay about my round self, but then I'll read someone's profile and they will say they have to have someone in perfect shape... bla bla, and it'll shrink me to nothing. So it's nice to read this here. You can't give everyone who sees you a note that says... but really I do have a medical condition and I try! :) But I say, unless you put the same care into yourself, you can't ask it of anyone else. If my Master has a pot belly, smells, and has dirty clothes. Then wants me perfect... hmm.. don't think that would last long.

That's what it is that bothers me about those sorts of expectations. Holding others to higher standards than one's self is hypocritical, and when those standards are appearance-oriented it leaves an unmistakable impression of shallowness. It's just such a winning combination.

That not only goes both ways... Doms and Dommes... but also can be the exact reverse. I have been told many times that I am fairly attractive, but the weight I gained 1 1/2 years ago bothers "me". I feel the need to be at my optimum "before" I can in fact offer myself to a Dom/Domme. While yes, it is said that it's what they want.... I feel it's giving them less than my best. So, when it comes to appearences, that ball definatly rolls ALL directions.

Why is it (almost always) automatically assumed that if you are fat, you also have bad hygeine?

As Ms Eden pointed out, the only legitimate discrimination left out there is weight discrimination - fat people are about the only ones left whom the comics can make fun of with impunity - cant tell lesbian or gay or blonde or Polish (or any ethnicity) joke without someone getting offended - but make fun of the fat guy (cant make fun of the fat chick cause that might offend the womens groups) and everyone is laughing - so what if the fat guy is offended and/or hurt? he is a fat slob, who obviously is lazy and with no self control or he wouldnt be fat and so is fair game.

Yes, I am fat and have been ever since they took out my tonsils when I was 7 or 8 (before that I couldnt keep food down - even mashed potatoes made me throw up) - but is it unrealistic of me to think that I, too, deserve love? or should I just give up because 'no one wants someone who obviously doesnt care much about themself or they wouldnt be fat"?

I was heartened in another thread (on disability) to see so many responses saying ' it is all about the person, not the shell ' --- how is weight any different ? are you not here judging by the shell? and not looking at the person within?

No apologies necessary. I think you speak for a lot of us here. From the threads and profiles i have read it appears that many on Collarme are overweight or have recently lost a lot of weight. It also seems like many BBW and BHM have been successful in fulfilling their BDSM desires.
