Some of you disagreed oh-so-heavily with that assessment as you bashed the cops who are there just to do their jobs.

I hate to say "I told you so," but.....

You predicted Oakland PD getting violent before the end of things making that a what? THREE out of THREE trifecta. Wow, you should be that pony at the track this weekend.

Gotta love the sign that says... For the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country.... wasnt that sorta the same thing the Dixie Chicks said about Bush... but the conservatives ralied against them for it?

Conservatives are actually proud of those signs?

No injuries mentioned in this article to either group. Good. It looks like there was better planning and cooler heads prevailed.

I went to sleep last night watching a bedside laptop since they no longer spend money on or really break away for major breaking news. But fortunately on Livestream, the protesters and groups of  journalism grads have been given a deal (very capitalist in the old fashioned sense  BTW) whereby they broadcast using their network transmitters and/or phone software and Livestream gets to say they covered perhaps the most historic series of events in this century when and where the mainstream media wouldn't.
     Livestream is by the way a start-up who have a tight relationship with the foo fighters, which helped them get their start. They used to be Mogulus... but the name doesn't sell much product[:D]

   Anyway, you could hear certain people in the crowd shouting "Everybody stay cool, keep it peaceful. Remember who we are and why we're here" And then you'd here like the camera man (sometimes just an android X) get hit with one of those paintball teargas things. He'd still be shouting (between growns) "let's keep it peaceful" and occasionally even "I am Scott Olson", which would be joined with thunderous chorus from the nearby crowd.
    Anybody who's got any real doubts about what's happening, should really get into the real event through these unique viewing opportunities.  You'll see it from inside the lines and as uninterpreted and uninterrupted as the technological boundaries allow.

Here's one that's frequently live particularly late at night

~FR~

I have two rolls of toilet paper, a half carton of eggs (well, I had to eat something), a couple of spray paint cans, a few firecrackers, etc. I've put out a few fliers, lied about my service in the Navy Seals, etc.

Gotten a couple of calls already.

Sanity -> RE: "Peaceful" protest.....yeah right (11/3/2011 3:42:49 PM)

Laughable, how you suggest that mass murder is the answer to our nations ills then pretend that the ows hooligans you stand for are these peaceful innocent bystanders [:D]

Come back when you get your story straight, skipper

Sorry... lol... that should have been 70.

Still less that the number of threatening punks at your average Tea Party 'Rally'.
I will say that they're more careful with their fire than the undercover cops, ummm I mean  'anarchists' ... Mosta the time theirs stays confined to the cross.[:D]

mnottertail -> RE: "Peaceful" protest.....yeah right (11/3/2011 3:46:39 PM)

What he said in that link and showing a picture of marie antoinette only leaves you to be the one suggesting mass murder here, so how dare YOU?

190 million neurons per brain are lost in each 12 seconds of viewing Fox News (somewhat less in watching other "news"). We have to keep the others' take on "Mass Murder" in perspective here. It goes on in their own head everyday.

mnottertail -> RE: "Peaceful" protest.....yeah right (11/3/2011 4:03:56 PM)

I guess cuz you hang with idiots like howard stern,and believe that shit.

Oh, I am sorry, you believe Faux Entertainment Nuze.

Do you always do things you hate doing? Might want to investigate that.....

But yeah, the cops made it violent, as they often have done in the past with such events. Almost everybody I've talked to who is involved hasn't got a violent bone in their body, and neither do I.
That said, if it gets violent for legit reasons, so be it. Revolution can be messy. If they won't listen to nonviolence they may listen to violence.

Darque, there are reports now that the OWS movement has been infiltrated by people expressly there to cause violence.  So even if violence does occur, it will not necessarily be OWS that is behind it.

Either way. Violence is often an end result in things like this. Therefore, dispersing the crowds before that happens is always a good idea. They've had a couple of weeks, set up some tents, beat some drums and whined about shit that ain't gonna change. It's time to pack it in.

There were not any arrests in the teabaggers protests and no violence?

Do I need to pull up the links or are you just being willfully ignorant?

mnottertail -> RE: "Peaceful" protest.....yeah right (11/3/2011 4:57:44 PM)

It's what "the people" have been wanting for years. Now that they have it, they don't want it.

Whether or not thats what 'the people wanted' is up for its own brand of disagreements. It sort of looks like 'the people dont want it now'.

Thats how our government works. They wrote about that.

Developer with shotgun scared off Oakland rioters
quote:

The Rotunda Building was far from the only target. Graffiti was spray-painted on many buildings along Broadway from 14th to 16th streets. Masked vandals shattered windows, started fires and threw objects at police, including lit flares and powerful M-1000 firecrackers. Officers responded by firing tear gas and flash-bang grenades and arresting 103 people, including those from as far away as Michigan and New York. Five civilians and three police officers were hurt.

Dontcha love peaceful riots and protests?

mnottertail -> RE: "Peaceful" protest.....yeah right (11/4/2011 7:55:28 AM)

Why didnt those supposedly 'lawful and honorable' piece of shit cops arrest that man for brandishing? Or shoot the fuckhead to death like he was holding a wallet?

Certainly, there were innocent people in the crowds around there.

But we all know when howard will be credible anything...
