Have you taken her to the vet before? Granted the vet probably caused more pain this time than before, and brought tension to everyone, but still, if she gets pissed everytime you take her to the vet, then this is only escalated from what she usually does.

I know that if Socks stays pissed off at me for more than 10 minutes, either something really bad happened to piss her off, or something is wrong.

For everything else, you need to step back and do what is best for Binxie. I know it is difficult to hold your emotions back, but you really have to. You and your partner are doing Binxie no favors by not being able to deal with things.

Im coping ok... he is having difficulty. But he got her as a kitten and she has slept beside his head every night since... until now. This has thrown him... but.. success! She came out to lay on the bed beside me earlier, eating the treats we got her... yes.. I bribed her to come out.

But the man has visibly relaxed... and Binxie is eating... so I can relax.

I really do appreciate all the advice I have been given... both on this thread and by cmail.

You guys are truly the best.

So it would seem the man's tension is a bit contagious, huh?

At least she is out from under the bed. I know how he feels. Most of my cats have slept in the same spot. Had one who decided to have kittens nearly in that spot. Eww, in case you were wondering.

Very contagious. I feel horrible having to remind him that his pain has to be put on hold until afterwards because Binxie needs him so much right now.

Yes, I am a horrible person... ugh!

I had a cat who delivered on my white bed spread once... needless to say, after washing, it became her bed on the floor.

You got several comments about tuna. I have a REAAAAALLY big house....and I had one cat (given to me by someone who was leaving the country) and that cat found so many gawdamn places to hide....I lost 20 lbs trying to find her.

One of my secretaries (who does rescue stuff, works at shelters, goes out at night to set traps for ferals).....told me..."put some tuna out....you'll find your cat".

I found my cat.

Tuna (for some unknown reason) is the shit.

You want a cat to come to you?

Tuna.

That's the stuff.

Well I delivered the litter that Socks had, including performing CPR on the runt! Talk about gross!

Speaking of which, I just peeked into the bedroom.. and all its right with the world. Binxie is back on John's belly, he is smiling, she is purring, and I can completely relax!

I don't remember hearing anything like a whine out of you, only a story about a family that was temporarily shocked and knocked off their mark by sudden, terrible news, and a woman with a deep desire to understand what was happening, and who asked proper questions for advice on how to best deal with it. You have nothing to apologize for, Tazz.
