The beauty part is that they aren`t under control of a party or corporation,PAC,think-tank or political outfit and don`t take orders.

They aren`t for sale, can`t be bought and aren`t leaving.

They don`t need to pretend to be something else, as the Ts did and aren`t going to be told what to do or how to do it.

The beauty part for you is the hilarious ironic part for me. They "can't be bought" and "don't take orders," yet they exhibit the same type of greed they protest against.

They?

How many out of how many?

You tell me. You used "they" before I did.

Any proof of that part?

You mean other than the fact that they're homeless?

Any proof that they were homeless?
Apparently, not.
The article says that they are "people in the encampment who are not part of the cause, including some people who have criminal backgrounds", and "taking advantage of the movement by sleeping in donated tents and eating donated food". It does not say that those people have no cozy home somewhere (maybe not in NY and they are making cheap tourism?) or money to buy food (but they prefer to eat for free, for example?).

So... your claim that they are homeless people. Can you prove it?

Owner59 -> RE: "We're the 99%, but you're not, so go away" (11/4/2011 10:35:49 PM)

You`re making the accusation,genius.

Don`t play retard word games with the adults.

What, you want me to buy one a computer and direct him to this site? Yeah, that'll happen.

Let's see, both the police and the protesters have called them vagrants and homeless, but I'd guess you want an extensive background search with photos and video? Hire a PI, not my problem.

Look again, retard. The person I quoted saying "they" was YOU. Why is it so many on this board forget what they post, mere seconds after posting it?

Here, let me repost your own comment for you.

And in addition to the bad publicity, the protesters said there are people who have been taking advantage of the movement by sleeping in donated tents and eating donated food.

How ironic. They're supposedly protesting income inequality (or whatever the claim is this week) but they can't use *donated* food and tents to help people who don't have homes to go back to.

When you say "they" it sounds like you don't consider yourself part of the 99.99%. Are you really the most greedy and corrupt 0.01% of your fellow man?

Give me the source of the protestes calling them homeless. It is not in the article.
I edited again, to remark what the article says and does NOT say.
Therefore... apparently your claim that they are homeless has no basis at all.
Thank you for the information. Best regards.

Actually, in that post "they" are the protesters who assume they represent "the 99%" when in fact, they only represent the "47%" who want something for nothing. I guess technically I'm in the "53%" who are tired of paying for all the entitlement programs that the "47%" who claim they are the "99%" whine about while benefitting from.

Shall I google it for you as well? I'm not here to spoon feed you. If you wish to make a counterpoint, do your own research.

Oh, okay, I get it now. Thanks.
It\s so cool that you know who they are and what they're all about even better than they do. You must have REALLY done your research.

Don't need to do a hell of a lot of research to see their slogan about being the 99%. That assumes that since I'm not rich, they think they speak for me. They do not.

You also don't need to do a lot of research to see their lack of a clear message or endgame either. Just walk by and look at the signs.

The counterpoint is made already. You have no proof or basis on that claim of you. And you send me to search something which is not there. Pretty brainless.

Ok, 'nuff said. You invented that "fact". Enough for me. Bye.

Oh of course chuckles. I've "invented" all the articles that talk about the homeless showing up at the rallies. Riiiight.

Bye troll.

The article does not say that they are homeless. As I quoted already. I abandon this thread, this is getting stupid.
And I "hide" you, no sense to speak with somebody so disrespectful and childish.

A troll who's also a cowardly pussy. Interesting. Well, at least by "abandoning" this thread and hiding me, I won't have to put up with your trolling.

Not giving a list of demands is due to an understanding of history & by design.  there can't be a meaningless hollow gesture of empty rhetoric & astroturf laden hijacking of the movement like the poor teaparty folks missed happening when republicans co-opted their movement.  They tried to fight against those attepts early on, but with a few hollow promises and empty gestures, they quickly forgot abandoned their original goals in favor of what was fed to them in a handy packaged form light enough on details to keep them from thinking to look behind the curtain.

What's going to happen is of a few possibilities, things change.. Kent State replays itself & the instant communication of twitter & cellphones with internet connected cameras is going to explode in ways usually only seen in less pleasant places you only ever see on the news... Something snaps.
But go ahead, keep giving the protestors the dirty hippy dehumanizing rhetoric & raise the likelihood of the Kent State style path.

Might as well. It won't affect me in the slightest, except to give me something to laugh at on the nightly news.

Well, I'll tell ya somethin', sparky. I don't pay Fed income taxes, and I'm not looking for "something for nothing".

The last tax return before I got divorced, our AGI was $274,000, and I don't begrudge a penny of that tax bill going to poor folks, Veterans, children, the disabled, or the unemployed.
