So what are OWS protesting? Income in equality? Why are they mad at banks? Do banks pay them? Why do banks act the way they do? Do they want to freeload or do they want a fair chance at success?

Do you understand what they mean by "income inequality"? From your post, I can tell you dont. Was it Washington who set the 5 dollar rate for ATM fees for accounts 20,000 or less?

Who cares if they set it at $10? You have a CHOICE with a free market to go somewhere else and tens of thousands diud jusdt that, they moved to credit unions. What you need to worry about is when you do not have a choice. When the government gets involved they pick winners and losers, that means they keep competition out. If your bank charges $5 the bank next door will charge $4 or $3 or free to get that business. That is the free market. When that is gone you will buy at the prices the government sets. And the government has never been efficient at anything. That means you will pay more. That is a fact.

Are you going to answer the question.... what do you think they mean by income inequality?

hugely arrrogant statement, there Steel

Have you ever camped next to a homeless person? Because this summer I had the misfortune of doing so on a number of occasions.

Ive been homeless twice..
Im sorry that was the only mark it left on you.

[8|] It's completely reasonable for protesters not to want to share their living space with the mentally ill and not to want drug addicts stealing their stuff while they are trying to protest.

Also the constant begging gets old REALLY fast.

Mmmmmm ... it's mostly a topic for debates... since there actually isn't much of it really going on. The folks in Austin tell me the footage the world has seen was heavily edited ... if anything I would be more worried about the NYPD taking people they pick up in the bronx for larceny and street crime and dropping them off in Liberty Plaza,... why do you think lots of women are opting to sleep in a barracks tent configuration?

There was a flap tonight about having weed in camp at tonight's GA. And I guess it's sorta a delicate thing because in Massachusetts, we got decrim passed a few years back and it's a civil fine with no record. But I brought up that some people don't want opportunistic exposure, and mostly everyone doesn't want to allow the cops an excuse to conduct nightly searches. And it's hard to uphold your rights under the 4th if every 5th camper is generating PC.
But at least it's being aired as am issue. The homeless people I've encountered seem to wish to head for the shelter of a night and they're amiable enough.
We're really kind of isolated down in the financial district, so we don't generally get the batshit crazy folks much.
