What you need to worry about is when you do not have a choice. When the government gets involved they pick winners and losers, that means they keep competition out. If your bank charges $5 the bank next door will charge $4 or $3 or free to get that business. That is the free market. When that is gone you will buy at the prices the government sets. And the government has never been efficient at anything. That means you will pay more. That is a fact.
