Hmmmm, let's see.....

Do you know that feeling you get when you go somewhere or see something spectacular for the first time? That awe inspiring moment that you can't seem to recreate?

I get that everytime.

The mental aspect of taking control of her mind and body never looses it's newness or gets stale.... and there is the great sex. Can't leave out the great sex.

And what of the cassowary? What of the seahorse? What of the mantis? What about the ostrich? What about hyenas? The male is the one doing the serving there.

You have to love these male supremacists who point to nature as their model, while in all honesty the majority of nature is matriarchal. Including the lions that they are so fond of holding up as an example of male dominated nature.

Ya.

And based upon what I've seen in my 49 years.......most men are submissive.....to their dicks.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to play English language Nazi here - the word is "evoke".

And skimming the surface of the question - I tend to feel a sense of responsibility and am reminded of the need for self-discipline.  That's not all, but it's as much as I'll say here.

The correct word is evoke, as Awareness has pointed out. (Thank you, that was bugging me.)

What emotion does being dominant evoke in me?

You mean aside from the purely blissful power rush? B/c I experience a serious power exchange with my sub. I give him what he needs to send him to sub space, and I get....high.

A high that lasts for days and energizes me in a way that is difficult to articulate. That, and absolute awe in the trust he places in me.

The two bits I bolded really resonated with me.

EXACTLY.
there's a HUUUUUUGE difference between social dominance and sexual dominance in nature, and even then, in these examples, the female is sexually dominant, too.

there are so many different examples in nature, it's absolutely asinine to try to point to nature and say "that's the one true way" when even Nature can't make up her mind! =p

In nature/animals, I see more of, groups of females banding together to create a 'family' and raise the young. The males are more transient and expendable.

I had a discussion with a friend last night, about her reasons for being submissive and the feelings and emotions, and to a lesser degree the reasons why she needed to be submissive.

She then turned the question around, and I was honestly a little stuck, my primary interest is the mental and emotional understanding of someone, and then turning that into sadistic ploys! The primary motivation for me appears to be narcissism! (that could be 50% tongue in cheek)

Basically, my response to that question just felt a little weak, and now I'm curious how others here would answer that question. because I'm sure those answers would help me to understand my answer.

Thank you in advance!

It evokes all the emotions which makes me human.

What the hell is all this crap about nature?  I'm a Dom, and I don't need to see whether marmosets or wombats do something.  I don't take orders from them.

I also find it absolutely absurd when supremacists (of either gender) point to animals and insects as their rational for why one gender is superior to the other. If we want to take all of our cues from nature then we need to start eating the poop of our young so predators can't track them (like wolves and dogs do) or abandon our injured/diseased comrades.

Sorry I had to get that out.

As for what feeling being a dom evokes in me, well I think we have all agreed that it is a complicated rush of emotions. A mixture of reveling in power, trust and adoration.

P.S. Thanks to Awareness for pointing out the typo in the original post. I hate being the first one to put on the grammar nazi hat and start correcting people, especially online.

P.P.S. Is it wrong that I almost immediately think less of a person who feels that their gender or race is the reason that they are superior to all others?

Hlen, I don't think he's the type to abandon ship.  He's a" full speed ahead, damn the torpedoes" type of guy.

OTOH, yup, he'd probably the first off a sinking ship and just leave the women and children behind  just to save his own arse.  Because, of course, he's the male.  OY VEY!!

I love waking up to the smell of bullshit in the morning!

He needs to abandon hope because of his contradictory post.

If every woman is a ball-buster, he'll never RECOGNIZE a trustworthy woman who could be that sugar-mama he's planning on living off of.

Now that I think about it, it's not that bad!

I don't need more than that. I'm simply old school. I say you do or you get the belt. don't like it? out the door. acting as a dom just reinforces my feelings that im supposed to do this and that women are meant to serve in the back in a support role. it's just less bullshit when this happens. If a woman winds up in a bad relationship that is HER CHOICE to deal with and she must accept the consequences of that choice or leave. if she finds a GOOD dom then she should SERVE HIM.

I enjoy spanking, hair pulling, and being swallowed but being obeyed is no bigger rush. I still hope there's one out there who can earn my trust.

Sorry sugartits but it's not old school to expect a sugar mama. Old school is taking care of your woman because if I am going to be spending all day serving, worshipping, and cock sucking, you better have a really good jobby jog, capiche?

Of course being a ball busting feminist, you could be the newly reincarnated Steve Jobs and I won't do that, but you get my drift....

Old school isn't leeching off your sub/slave. FFS.

Have I told you lately how much I lurves you???

I think there are too many off topic replies and counter replies here. People will post dumb stuff, but this is a good topic.
What emotions does being Dom invoke for me?

Well, the knowledge that I have responsibility for another person. This becomes shifted a bit in a more Master/slave type situation, where the responsibility is for a well cared for object, but the responsibility factor is still there. Like most aware people, we are caretakers of things (the planet, our lives, other lives), not owners. The acknowledgement that I guide and structure sex and other kinky activities, the willingness to take and use another sexually as a justified reward for my status as Dom/Master... The satisfaction of knowing my skills are well founded and I can guide and focus my sub/slave in positive ways. Occasionally there is the outright kinky lust and sexual exploitation of my sub/slave for my own selfish, greedy motives, and gratitude that I have such a well trained and willing outlet for my kinky and sexual desires... When I was younger I was rather carried away with my Dom or Master role and was a bit egotistical, even arrogant, though I hate to acknowledge it. I was very ego driven, but I have to say it is very nice to have a dedicated sub/slave who makes you feel like you are in charge of their life, your life and truly a Master. It is ultimately gratifying.
