It looked like a Representative Republic in action to me. This needs to happen to Romney, Cain and Perry. And Obama.

Exactly what it looked like to me too.  But Bachmann is a politician, so I guess, according the right wingers on here, she should have her say and everybody else should have remained quiet.  That's how a totalitarian government works.

Your "right to speak" is not any more important than mine.

Actually when a person has paid for a venue their right to speak does trump yours.

If leftists could cogently debate they would, instead of shouting down anyone they disagree with.

Hmmm.  Reminds me of all those "town hall" meetings last year.  Cogent debate fer shur.

You can't buy rights with cash. Maybe you meant "privilege" originally instead of "right"?

You can buy privilege ( private law ) with money. Politicians who think they're entitled to special privileges. SURELY, that's not what you're advocating!

"The best that money can buy" in fact has gotten a bit twisted here lately, hasn't it?

But it's even worse than that. I find it hard to carp about Chinese imports when Bush II came so cheap.

Talk about underselling.

So a movement that is based in expanding the boundaries of free speech, is proud and gleeful when they practice censorship...

Got it.

I meant exactly what I said. All rights are granted by people, including property rights. When you rent time at a venue you have inured property rights for that period of time, and that includes being able to present what you intended to.

She could have made it a private gathering, there by eliminating the chance the Occupy Movement would interupt on her latest insanity (course she would get nailed for cozying up to the 1% and not 'all Americans'). Instead, she decided on a public venue. I hate to tell you willbeurdaddy, but in public, ANYONE, can speak up over the person talking. Back in 'the old days' it was respectable to listen to the person talking. In fact, 'Robert's Rules' gives 'the floor' to the person talking at the time in a CIVILIZED MANNER. And I know your US History is limited to the last three months, so here is an 'older' US History lesson for you.

Back during the lead up to the American Affordable Care Act of 2010 (that's 'Obamacare' for you illerate conservatives). There were many town hall meetings across the country. The nation's elected officals (Senators and Representatives) had to hold (by law in some cases) these meetings to inform, educate, and get feedback from the voters on the bill in question. As recalled by many (ok, many NON-conservatives it seems), these meetings turned ugly and into uncivilized rantings by conservatives. I recall attending one of thesse meetings with my elected representative. There were about 30-40 (out of about 400+, standing room only) in the crowd that were just utterly disrespectful to the elected offical. They boo'd, hollered, and basically behaved as disrespectful as it got. They even tried to interupt several times while the offical was giving both examples of how it would be used and answering questions. Some of these elected officals were even threaten with their lives.

So I find it rather amusing that conservatives bitch and moan over something like this. You really are a hypocrit on this topic. Because I recall in posts 'in ancient times to you' that you didnt see anything wrong with those conservatives behaving like 12 year olds at town meetings. You even posted to this very forum about it.

Respecting public officals, willbeurdaddy? Lets start with the President of the United States of America. How often do your posts refer to the man in a respectful manner? How often do conservatives on here, refer to the man in a respectful manner? Rep. Michelle Bachmann got what she deserved, that's what makes it so funny to watch.

Asinine comparison as usual from you. In a public event I would most certainly respect Blowboy's right to speak. In private he gets exactly the respect his accomplisments deserve..none.

MIC CHECK....

EVERYONE, is now subject to listening and repeating everything I say, and answering me, whether you agreed to the "MIC CHECK" rule or not.

I don't have anything to say right now, but I hold the MIC.... so please do not interrupt me. Thank you for supporting the Occupy Movement.

Screw that.

I've got just a few million and I'm going to put CEOs of drug and oil and bank companies and board members into the top levels of government.

The Republicans definitely provide more bang for the buck on this one.

Oh, even got a Homeland Insecurity deal out of it, and a slew of Anti-Patriot laws in the bargain.

But damn those commie OWSers. They will take all our rights away tomorrow!

When you rent a venue for a public meeting the first ammendment applies.
When you rent a venue for a private meeting you have the right to limit access.

What is with this crazy sing-song chant business that I keep seeing in different videos. It makes my skin crawl.

The technique is called "people's mic' and the reason it's normally used is because they can be arrested for using a megaphone to make announcements. They reason they use it in an awards dinner is to make people's skin crawl.
The best preventative is to avoid $100.00 (and up) a plate fundraisers.
