You know what? Many people think that slashy speak is stupid.

I have no idea what you do, but if you are in the counseling/therapy/psychology field you should be FIRED. You may think you are taking the "Dr. Phil" approach, but you are way off base. I'm MRS. Dr. Phyllis around here so I know you are not him.

You have the unbelievable audacity to come to a thread like this and berate a young woman for her choice of screen names, pick on her disabilities and then go on to call her ignorant?!

If this is the way you and your co-workers behave, I could only wish all of the "clients" at your facility could see what a rude, disrespectful woman you are as well as seeing you lack the most basic components necessary in the field of psychology/counseling: compassion and empathy.

You are nearly worse than every male "do me sub" and man who thinks that being "dominant" is a license to be abusive. You are an absolute bad reflection on your dominant, and I can honestly say I have NEVER used that phrase before, and I have been on this site for a very long time (7 years).

TFB:

A couple things.

Swimming is one of THE best aerobic exercises, especially for the overweight. It also provides one of the best overall workouts. There is ZERO impact, and if you swim properly, it will be very helpful in improving your posture. The butterfly is great, but I believe right now, a bit more than you can handle. Ask someone at the gym to show you how to properly do the freestyle and the backstroke, and take any classes they give for exercising in the water. You could really forego all the other exercises if you do this 3-4 times a week. Bonus? Since you are in water, you never break a sweat, lol.

I get you are worried about your mom, but you need to focus on YOU. If you mom is not making healthy dinners, get your ass in the kitchen and cook! Cook for yourself, cook for everyone, that's up to you. You obviously know what you should or shouldn't eat, so get in the kitchen and do it.

Using the ball while watching television is a great idea, but here is an easy modification. While the show is on, sit on the ball. When a commercial comes on, get up and move. March in place, walk around the room, do arm exercises. You will stretch out the muscles that are getting sore from sitting properly on the ball and these small bursts of exercise will be easier to do when you know at the end of the commercials, you get to sit back on your ball and enjoy your show.

You couple swimming with the above, physically you will be stronger in no time at all.

I remember when you first started posting here, so I know how far you have come, and you should be very proud of yourself. Your writing skills and spelling have improved so much over those early days. I understand you have some things you need to work on some more, but you are doing it. I know I have come down on you a couple of time for asking here things you could and should have taken intiative and found the answers yourself, but you know what? You still get kudos for asking to begin with.

I can see that the idot a couple pages ago probably pissed some of us off more than you, lol. But what does that tell you? We know you from years of posting, we know you have some difficulties, and we like you and want to help you overcome them. So FUCK HER!

As with GT, you know you can contact me when ever you need a quick boost of help, as I'm sure you could with many others here.

As for sending cmails when you are having success? HELL NO. Babycakes, you need to post THAT news on the forum so everyone can give you the accolades you earn by those successes.

tftb, A good exercise to do that will help your core and it only takes 1 minute when you do it correctly and are a pro lol  is called a plank.  It's HARD and i hate it lol but its one of the best exercises to strengthen your core and you need to really be diligent about maintaining the correct posture.  My trainers usually have me do the ones on my elbows instead of the fully extended arms as it kills my wrists.

Here is a link to a video that will show you how to do it regular and then show you how to do the modified.  LISTEN to what she says because she tells you what not to let happen.  I would recommend you start out with the one on your elbows and knees and work to hold it for 5 seconds.  Have someone who watched the video and do your own research on same so they can watch you to make sure you aren't allowing your body to sag.  When you can do 10 of those in one day, then move it up to 8 seconds etc.

You can get one of those balls for like 10 bucks most anywhere.  A good exercise to strength your core is sit on a straight back chair and keep your poster straight the best you can.  Hold the bottom of the chair (you will get to the point you don't do this anymore) put your heels on the ball, and using your core muscles pull the ball towards the chair with your core muscles as close as you can.  Then push it out with your core -- remember your posture -- work until you can do this for 1 minute, then 2, then 3 up to 5 minutes, slow and steady not fast.

These will help you to start strengthening your core but the most important thing you need to concentrate on is 1) keeping your posture correct and 2) using your core muscles to do them.

They aren't difficult, they aren't exciting, but they things you can do in a short period of time that will strengthen your core every time you do it no matter how short of time you can do it in the beginning.

I took Bones into the house to make dinner for myself! It's a pitiful dinner cause we don't have a lot of food right now but it's better than nothing 2 eggs, and a garden grown half a squash.

I will check that clip out in the morning, right now everything is being slow and freezy.

The way I have always swam was either on my back sizor kicking, or on my stomach sizor kicking. Now since sizor kicking hurts I just flail with my arms to get me through the water.

One of my goals is to use our crock pot 3 times a week to make healthy meals, if she won't cook right, I certainly can and feed every one.

tftb, there are also exercises you can do in the pool because the resistance of the water and your bodies natural ability to float, do some research -- core exercises for the pool.

core exercises for the pool

I think you need to start small and work up.  The biggest thing is -- even if you can only do one -- do it CORRECTLY.  It doesn't help to do 2, if you do both of them incorrectly and perhaps hurt yourself.

another good pool exercise is get one of those floaty devices either a ball, a tube or even a board, sit against the side of the pull and press your back against it while in the water, hold the object in front of you with both your hands arms extended but not locked, keep a hold of it and slowly start pressing it down into the water while pressing your back against the side of the pool for support until you can touch your thighs with the object arms fully extended.   IMPORTANT -- when you bring it back up maintain the control and do it slowly, do not let the water do it for you.  You should feel your core muscles working to do this, do as many as you can and work to up your reps to 12, rest 1 minute and then another 12.  But seriously, even if you can only do one -- do it correctly concentrating on using your ab muscles to press it down and keep your back pressed tight against the wall and do not use your leggs.

Once you get these under control, there are other variations you can do.

You can do this, you just have to take action.  Tony Robbins has a great quote:

A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided.

TFTB, as you need a new computer chair would one of these be beneficial?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_chair
A sports belt or corset might be of some temporary relief, perhaps just to give more confidence during exercise. They're not designed for long spells though or to correct posture problems.
Have you considered massage?
Am sure your daddy would be willing to trade massage sessions.
Sufficient skills can be learned from a book, dvd or online.
It's social too. You may well be more likely to get your man to perform massage when he gets in tired from work, rather than going out into the cold again for a walk.
Warming up properly before beginning will enable you to exercise more safely and perhaps for longer.
Another thing would be to ensure you have the right mattress on your bed.
Most people have a mattress that is too soft, especially if they have any back issues.
Take advice though, it is also possible to have a bed that's too hard.
If you're a frequent snacker through boredom or bad habits, change to a healthier snack. Carrot slices, dried fruits and nuts are all good.
Sugar free gum can help convince the body it's being satisfied.

Keep going.

Be well.

I am a fool for massage, we used to have a massage service, but when we had to tighten our belt and suck it in, no pun intended, but it is a funny turn of phrase, I stopped going. I do want some massages now and then and there's groupon discounts that can make them very affordable, and, places around here have first timer specials where it's 40 dollars instead of 50 or more.

Daddy tries to rub my back, but man nothing like those trained fingers working your back lol.

I'm not sure if that "chair" would work out or not.

Our bed is softish, but I hope not to soft.

Not usually a boredom or impulse eater to much, more like I don't eat enough till I am starving then over eat. Or sometimes Daddy does influence my desire to eat by snacking next to me late at night.
