SubRopes -> First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 6:20:48 PM)

So I am looking to buy my first pair of ballet heels / boots. I currently have a pair of 6 inch high heels that I like to wear when I can. This is mostly just inside, around the house in private (for one I am a guy, for two I am not homosexual in anyway I just really like high heels and how they feel. Unfortunately most people would take it not that way and I don't want to deal with most people I know mis-understanding) But I digress.

I have thought about it for a long time, and have been shopping around. The site www.milanoo.com has some fairly good prices but extremely long shipping times (a little less than a month). I do not mind waiting but I would rather receive them sooner than later.

Does anyone know of any good sites to buy ballet heels from? I have looked at amazon and might just go with them, but I thought I would ask to see if anyone knew of sites that had better prices.

And to turn this thread into a good discussion. What are some good brands? What kind of high heels do you like?

While I have never used Milanoo myself, I've read tons of baaaad experiences with them on Fetlife, from people who used them as a source for EGL clothing; but they have a really bad track record when it comes to shipping, and with the product that arrives even being the one you saw on the site and ordered. =p
You can read some reviews HERE.

I really like the look of ballet boots/shoes, and there's a place local to me, called Basic Tease, that can order them.
I'm not sure if you can have then shipped to you from Basic Tease here in Omaha, but the prices they have are lower than Amazon. You can check it out HERE.

Oh wow, I did not realize they had such a bad rep... I'm glad I posted here then. I had a feeling... I guess it was correct then. I will look into that shop near you, but shipping from there to New York might end up being more expensive than Amazon.

I will continue my search. I do not mind spending like $150 or a little more on a pair, but it seems most are just out of that range. Such is life, something is always just out of reach.

Yeah, you might have to save up here and there. Save your coffee money or something like that. =p The prices seem to have gone up; the first ones on BT's site, the 08 black ones, used to only be a little over $90. So the price has gone up some...

Oh how lovely! I wouldnt dream of even trying a pair on, but I do love how they look.

Yea and unfortunately I am really looking for ankle boot ones. I would rather my first pair have some extra ankle support, even coming from 6 inch heels, its not going to be easy. But I might have to settle 117+shipping might not be too bad for the ones you had mentioned.

I thought that way about high heels in general until I found a good deal on a 6 inch pair, but I absolutely love the feeling of them. Although since I started wearing high heels when I can, if I see a woman walking around in a good 5+ inch pair of heels, I get weak in the knees. I just think women look amazing in them, that added to the fact that I can think about how they feel just ads to how good I think they look, if that makes any sense.

Either way still not sure if it was a good idea to start doing it, but I do love it.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 7:23:07 PM)

If you find some, tazzy, you might at least try them on. ^_^ haha
you never know!

tazzygirl -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 7:28:27 PM)

I know I will fall flat on my face! Ha! I will take the man with and he can snap a picture of it!!

LillyBoPeep -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 7:32:44 PM)

Well you don't have to stand in them. =p You can just lay back all pin-up-like with one leg in the air. ^_^ That'd be awesome. ^_^

OOOOOO remember Mona from "Who's the Boss"? Always wanted to do that pose she did in red! Yum! with those shoes? Oh yeah baby!

LillyBoPeep -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 7:43:59 PM)

I'll second the avoid milanoo sentiment. I don't want to get into details, but I regret ordering from them.

I can stand on the tips of my toes so I imagine I could wear those shoes... wouldn't want to go anywhere in them though : p

SubRopes -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 7:46:42 PM)

So do I!

Well thats 2 against so I definitely will not order from them. Still trying to find other's that are slightly cheaper than amazon. Although at this rate I might just have to suck it up. I have been looking for quite some time.

tazzygirl -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/15/2011 7:49:12 PM)

ooooooo me too!

LillyBoPeep -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/16/2011 1:53:27 AM)

Check out this part of a review for these ones on Amazon --

If, on the other hand, you're looking for a serious pair of ballet boots for walking around the mall, be forewarned there is no block or padding on the tip of the toe, and the heel is not terribly sturdy. If this is your thing, save a few more pennies, and go with a better boot. But if you're just in the market for the "look", lace 'em up and rock on!

Walking around the mall? That's hardcore. haha

BalletBob -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/18/2011 4:48:39 PM)

I like the way Ballet Heels look, but would hurt myself if I tried to wear them. LMCLAO

I do have "Pointe Shoes" though, which are the "Original" Ballet Shoes. HA HA HA I can go "en Pointe" at times, and they feel like Foot Bondage too, probably like the Ballet Heels feel.

En Pointe and loving it, sub BalletBob

Buzzzz -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/19/2011 2:42:59 PM)

Ebay. Make sure you get them a little bigger, so You can put a small piece of fabric down there , to help on the pain to the toes.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: First Ballet Heels (11/19/2011 2:55:42 PM)

Ohh that's a good idea, Buzzzz - like a little piece of foam or something?
