I just recently had a BRIEF exchange with a guy that mentioned my tattoos. The problem was, the way he phrased things pretty much left only able to answer with one word/sentence. His LAST email didnt give me ANYTHING to respond to.

I have a habit of never taking anything that happens on the web very seriously. BUT seeing as this topic does keep coming back up I would have to say that in the many years I have taken part in forums, chat rooms, boards, etc. that there is one thing that does bother me. My pet peeve would be the death of courtesty. In today’s anonymous Internet world, where the vast majority of users prefer to hide behind an alias or cryptic user ID, these forums are populated by people who simply don’t care about the feelings of fellow participants. Most of them are rude know-it-alls who get more satisfaction out of blasting a fine point in someone else’s post than actually contributing helpful information. It’s the rude accusations that make this so distasteful, not only to the victim of the flaming, but to the innocent bystanders who agree with him or the people who have just checked in to learn something of value. The folks that seem to think that coming back and going over the same topic point for point with the same person over and over in hopes of changing their mind make me want to bang my head on my desk until I forget how to read.

Gee you asked for a pet peeve and you got a rant. I think I'm having one of "those days"

I sort of like the profiles with bad spelling and horrible grammar--also the people that bitch and moan in journals and the ones that take pictures of themselves that show what rotten house keepers they are---all of this saves me lots of time cause I cruise right on by.   I also don't really mind if people don't show because if I am traveling---I have a plan B in place just in case someone doesn't show that way I don't feel I have wasted my time.   

I guess the only thing that really bugs me is...ummmm.....arrogance and annoying voices---sorry but southern accents are at the top of my annoying voice list.

I really dislike text speech especially in a first
message. If you can't write out the word you
we're probably on different paths.
Slashy speech, one liners. just 'hello',
little this or that.
I've also gotten messages out of the blue
that say things like 'You may message me'
or 'You have my permission to contact me'.
And just as bad as the to short messages
are the to damn long messages. It's like
someone sending you their bdsm thesis.
Paragraphs of them pontificating about
their philosophy.

I think the spelling/grammar police have gotten rather anal on the boards as of late.  I'm of the opinion that if you have a problem with someone's profile, that's where the issue should stay.  On the profile side.  There's no need to drag in onto the forum side so that it can become public discussion.  I see a big difference between a generic thread like this one and the ones that a specific individual is ridiculed because of spelling mistakes.  Some folks act like they've never made a typo or use the wrong homonym when typing a post out quickly.

If a person can't get past the way someone types, the very simple answer to the issue is..... Don't.  Either ignore them or have the fortitude (not to mention grace) to deal with them directly in private. 

I am sorry that you had someone flake, dear.  I'm sure that the incident was rather frustrating, as well as inconvenient.

I don't interact too much via cmail, but I've always been puzzled when I come across
a dominant profile that states "I'm not really sure what I'm looking for".

It's good to see you posting again Roch, albeit in a grumpy mood. I hope it goes away soon!

Actually, I'm going to change my biggest pet peeve.

My profile says that I'm just here for the forums. My pet peeve is when guys are arrogant enough to believe that doesn't apply to them. Doubly so, if it's a male submissive who wants me to be dominant towards them.

Guys who give you nothing... no profile, no interesting email... just nothing to response to, and then want you to get into detailed conversations with them.

The few times I actually make the effort of writing a decent mail back, which includes a bunch of questions, I still have gotten a nearly non-descript mail back, ignoring most of my questions. I mean, if you have got nothing to say, then why bother writing somebody at all?

Which brings me right into another pet peeve of mine.
People who want you to lead the conversation (especially people who are starting off with "Can I please serve you?" mails), but can't even follow simple instructions or answer simple questions when writing emails.
And I'm not talking about harsh demands here but stuff like "Please use paragraphs and punctuation if you want me to read your mails" "What is it that you liked about my profile?" "Why is it that slavery is an interest of yours?".

I HATE the "please please mistress, I want to be your 24/7/365 slave bitch with NO rights or limits and I will do EVERYTHING you ask starting NOW, but I can't/won't follow simple instructions or answers straight forward questions, and all I really want to talk about is my kink so I'm going to ignore every other question you have or comment you make" types.

The pictures of other women on a guy's profile. I get it that it's like an adult picture book for 'this is what I will do to you' or 'look! I've had sex!', but holy cow that's skeezy. That really bugs me. Other nude women pictures on a guy's profile bother me more than them posting their dick pictures, and I'm not real fond of those either. From strangers that is, I like seeing the ones from people that I know.

One guy wrote me and took the trouble to attach to this initial email a picture of a women's breast. I asked him if it was his, he responded to me seriously that no, it wasn't.
