Just because someone directs you to a pay site or is a fin domme or a pro domme doesn't make them a scammer.

I recently started another post about males trying to scam females.
My attention had been brought to an English guy on here with a nice picture of a not so good looking middle aged man wearing a smart suit. Google image search brought up three pages about this guy and warnings about how he uses dating sites to chat up middle aged American women before fleecing them of their money.
All this info was enough to make me hit the report button but I didn't get the option of explaining why I was reporting him. I wasn't able to send admin links to show that this guy had page upon page of public warnings. Its doubtful such a person will get banned and he is probably a clever enough sociopath to continue making victims out of the very women that use this site.
It would be ridiculous if admin banned every profile that was reported. People are vindictive and I'm sure some people would report a profile just because they had an email ignored. Personally though, I think there should be a way of reporting the sort of profile I mentioned above.
Some years ago admin dealt with a situation for me that in rl had involved the police. I was expected to prove what had really gone on with this guy who still had a profile up on here. That is how it should be. I could of been an angry ex just trying to make his life difficult. Admin do respond in a concerned and professional manner when they have the facts in front of them and that is the way it should be but sometimes getting to the right person to provide those facts can be a difficult task.

Has anyone considered that baiting the scammers can be a helluva lot of fun? For the most part, they're thick as pig shit and easy to wind up and it wastes a bunch of their time.

Sue me, I'm bored.

I've got a similar issue I'm currently wrestling with..

I responded to a profile on this site where the user gave "her" age as 37. "She" requested that we switch to yahoo, to minimize the amount of CM mail she receives.

"She" led me on a merry chase, challenging me to figure out where "she" was from. Eventually it became a logical absurdity.

My issue: I have a sneaking suspicion based on the language used in the emails that the profile was created by a couple of youngsters- there were some variations in style which make me think that, but one of their comments, "but I'm so young." really began raising my warning hackles.

I'll happily report this user as underage, but will the system accept this if the profile gives a different age?

Thanks,

Sam

I think you can contact VideoAdminAlpha and give her the details and your suspicions.

Hi Lily

I'm not sure she wants to be bothered, but I'll send her a note anyway. I went through the FAQ-if there were something illegal going on, it's time to call the cops, but I'm not sure what exactly is illegal- other than swiping someones pictures. In short, I'm not sure what exactly you could charge the kids with- they're not looking for money and the cops may view it as a juvenile prank. On the other hand, with all the stings going on for people interested in underage sex-this seems to be a worrisome area for adult users.

You can click the report user button and pick the reason you are reporting them. As to revenue from advertising, there are over a million members, with vid chat, text chat rooms, email that is stored for 6 months, the forums, and im chat between users. The revenue does not begin to cover the monthly bills, just a portion of them. Until approximately 2006 and 350,000 users, there was absolutely no advertising on site and the owners bore the whole cost. Now the advertising offsets only a part.

Wow. Those figures are impressive.

Interesting post, I do agree people should be able to verify however the whole deleting a profile after 5 reports= bad idea.
Reasons for that: Trolls

To video admin alpha

I'm surprised at that .
Who are the owners , are they here as members ?

Of course I'm not VAA, but if you go to the bottom of your Home screen, there it says this site is copyrighted by Collarme.com and Vspin.net. Maybe that Vspin.net owns CM?

These are NOT small inconveniences. I have been on this site for almost two years and I have yet to meet a submissive willing to even verify herself by taking a photo of herself holding a sign she wrote. Anyone who thinks verification that YOU ARE who YOU SAY you are is a bad idea IS A FAKE. I am not suggesting personal information be submitted. I am suggesting it is done through photos and doing something requested of you in your photo. That would be an excellent way to verify.

The rest of you can go to hell.

Ah you poor thing. Such a disappointing life you lead that you have found NO ONE who will do as you wish, must be frustrating. Did you ever think the fault might lie with you? Of course not. Anyone who shows his ass in a main picture is a stellar example of a Domly Dom. Carry on, we have no ideas of worth on these boards for one such as yourself...

I did something similar once with a girl offering her slavery. I had coerced her address in Florida so I Google Earth'd it. Asked her what color her roof was. She said she'd have to go look then came back a minute later saying she did not understand the question. I LMFAO. She came back the next day with the answer.

Damn good thing I'm not a submissive then, huh?

I'll have been on this site come five years in February.  In that time, I've met over two hundred people from this site.  The majority of which have been forum posters at one time or another.  Go see how many times My name is mentioned in the Positive Experience forum.

For the record, every picture of Me on this site and the *other* site have been taken by other CM members.  I didn't have to hold some stupid sign up for them to know it was Me.

This is the only subject where I make this statement outright.  If you can't meet other members from this site, you are doing it wrong!

I am not holding up a sign in a picture or doing something requested by some guy that thinks that is a good way for me to verify myself. I may get on the phone, I may meet him... but holding a sign like some idiot online, mug shot... not in this life time!

There were some I didn't talk to by phone for some time, but I knew they were real... they knew I was real simply because we played it real. We weren't looking for a quick hook up... for something without a foundation or something for nothing. I have never had anyone hold a sign and if anyone put my nick on a sign and did that... they would be out of my life because their tool for whatever would prove they didn't have the tools for being in my life... for realz!

It isn't rocket science to know when someone is being real with you or to pick out the fakes and if you need a sign to do that... well then... a certain comedian comes to mind... here's your sign... IDIOT.

I was called a fake yesterday for the first time. (I don't respond to men who write to me despite the fact that they are outside of my age/location limits stated on my profile, unless they're from the forums. Apparently that makes me a fake.) I feel like I've passed through some sort of initiation. What do I win?

Well it sucks to be you then. My Master never required that of me. We spoke on the phone and I sent other photos of me, and later I got on webcam (as we played gin rummy online). We later met and have been together since.

I would never be such a lameass to "verify" in the manner that you require. Just shows that the only thing you are master of is your right hand (or is it your left?).
