http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/16/congress-approval-rating-porn-polygamy_n_1098497.html

Nine percent.

9% approve of what congress is doing.

The middle is watching........

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 11:55:39 AM)

Yeah and we are disgusted with both sides.

tazzygirl -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 12:43:03 PM)

Yes, we are, Master Orion.

Sorry Orion....

This reflects on the leadership.

Folks who are pissed at cons for dragging us down and pissed at dems for not stopping them.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 3:21:48 PM)

I am also pissed at the cheerleaders that promote the division as well. Always breaking things down party lines is one of the biggest issues there is. It is not a game. Compromise and moderation is desperately needed, but when there are extremist on both sides fueling the pissing matches, everyone suffers from it.

You can give us some examples of President Obama being divisive,Orion?

I pick the things I support and reject based on their merit or lack of.

Hell, most people agree on 80-90% of issues or more.

What divides us is pretty basic and really not an issue. Not everyone`s going to agree.

It`s conduct that matters.

I can give you example after example of republican divisiveness and you know that.

Why would you think I was speaking of Obama? Other than I do not believe he has effectively led the two parties to compromise, nor pushed for the corporate thugs to actually be taken to task for the financial mess, he has been okay as a President.

We have been down this road before where I have plastered link after link to your comments that were nothing more than partisan bickering and cheerleading. While you may pick things based upon merit or lack there of, you are not very productive in the delivery of some of the discussions. It is not just you, there are cheerleaders on both sides and that bickering just detracts from actual discussion that may lead to common ground.

Not sure what polls you are looking at, all I have seen is where people agree where the problems are, not on the issues that actually caused them.

Big difference between not agreeing and some of the petty snarkfests and cheerleading that goes on.

See, even in this post you split things down party lines, rather than see that both parties are pretty much a waste. They are corporate puppets and American elite. They love supporters like you, because you keep the distractions going. You should be so proud.

You and Sanity are just different sides of the same coin, you represent the two extreme sides that keep the division up, the distractions going, and the BS flowing. Back to removing you from my forum reality again.

erieangel -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 7:12:41 PM)

I found it interesting that 11% are in favor of the country going communist...

Sanity -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 7:21:53 PM)

What kind of strange "principles" would require you to compromise on your principles

How odd

By that logic such bizarre "principles" would require one to also compromise on the idea that everyone needs to compromise

You should compromise your belief in other words, because apparently you dont believe your ideals are worth defending

Its also worth noting that according to the way leftists commonly define "bipartisanship" only Conservatives must betray their core values

And "moderation" in the political sense only means that you dont have any real values or ideals, you just want to be liked even as the middle might be marching straight into hell

With a 9% approval rating, the lock horns that is happening in Congress isnt what the people want.

You may want to stand on "principal" The majority want to work.

Sanity -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 7:36:25 PM)

And of course every leftist is a self anointed, self righteous authority on what "the majority" want

Think about it

They claim (quite laughably) to represent "the 99%" [:D]

Um.  If by "defending your principles", you mean grandstanding and pointing fingers at the other side rather than working with them to get something done even if it's not 100% what you want, then yeah, Congress defends its principles all the time.  Their goal is reelection, not guiding the country.

Tell me where I mentioned leftists? Or righties?

The people want jobs... the people want an improved economy.

It should be evident, even to you, the "people" are of both parties.

Sanity -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 7:47:24 PM)

No, you obviously dont have a clue what I mean.

Losers compromise, Steven. If its an ideal, if its what you think its best, or you think its right, then you fight for it and you dont ever give up. You dont give in before you even get started, else why even get out of bed.

And what you dont get, Sanity, is that the people have realized they are the losers.

servantforuse -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 7:48:55 PM)

I certainly did not like Bill Clinton, but he was the ultimate politician. When he was in trouble after the republicans took control in 1994 he moved to the middle. Obama is to dumb to take advise and do the same thing..

That stupid assed attitude is why the country is in the ratfuck it's in.

Tell me sanity. When you're walking down the sidewalk and someone is coming the other way, do you bull ahead untill you crash into them or do you move over a bit (compromise)?

Sanity -> RE: Congress less popular then polygamy,BP oil spill,etc... (11/23/2011 8:00:38 PM)

Right, good point. The child-president  keeps demanding that the Republicans compromise, and give him everything he demands...

Fuck that vapid ignorance. If the people want the country to slide further towards becoming another Greece, loaded up with even more unsustainable debt, then they can vote for that and more Democratic corruption. They can vote for the Barney Franks, the Chris Dodds, the Anthony Weiners... the Do-As-I-Say, Not-As-I-Do "Everyone must sacrifice" Vacationer-In-Chief, Nanci Pelosi and Harry Reid... fine.

Let "the majority" have it, if thats what they want to vote for.

But dont compromise, and drive the freakin' suicide mobile as they navigate it straight off the bridge into the big muddy river.

Contrast the leftist insanity with uncompromising fiscal conservatism, which is the only thing that will provide a way out of this huge mess that we got into by compromising with leftists in the first place
