Your answer is in post twelve, my love.

there is nothing in post 12 but your attempt to be condescending.
your ODS is getting more and more childlike every day

MissAsylum -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 10:28:27 AM)

Sanity, you just made time a factor of your argument. Politics aside, the english language proves that.

If something is happening while something is going on, it is occurring through the duration of another event. Example: it is raining while we are playing football.

When is it raining? While we are playing football.

When is Obama playing golf? While a war is going on.

As if the primitive guttural utterings in the posts above deserve anything above or beyond condescension...

If you want respectful conversation then drop the brain-damaged witch persona, and quit proving the assertion tazzy made in her self derisive post above correct.

The point isnt the timeline, has nothing to do with it, though it might make for a nice derail if the point itself is inconvenient for you.

MissAsylum -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 10:39:24 AM)

Yes it is, you made it that point.

From what you've said, Obama is fucking off while a war is going on. However the time line isn't relevant.

That is what you've said, correct?

You also said that Obama gets a pass for playing golf yet Bush was heavily criticized for doing the same thing.

Stop me if i'm wrong.

Lucylastic -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 10:47:16 AM)

we are now on post 26
you have ignored my requests for plain answers, and derailed your own thread to attack me.
You cant, do it can you, you dont have an answer beyond attacking and derailing, obfuscating and name calling.
call me all the names you want, attack me with everything you have.

respect and you in the same sentence. does not compute, its illogical and wont ever happen

Can either side of these debates ever just converse without stooping to childish insults?

Sanity -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 11:01:21 AM)

The point is not necessarily what precise moment did the armed forces make this massive blunder, and what was the president doing at that point in time, or what are his diplomats doing to ameliorate the situation - and I apologize if I gave that impression.

The wars have been a constant, but the way the media in general and the left in particular portrays / portrayed the different presidents is the main point, though there are significant subtexts. In other words, why is this president playing golf during wartime now perfectly acceptable to the media etc, when under Bush it was reason worth going apoplectic.

Now its as if this president may openly flaunt his aloofness, his disconnectedness from the military, and any negative actions said military takes is charged off to NATO or other organizations or figures. Yet if its something positive, such as the killing of OBL, its treated as if the president did it personally with his bare hands and his teeth...

I would just like to see some core honesty here, and a level playing field to judge political figures and history itself, but thats not what we are seeing or getting.

The very point of the thread is a childish attack.
Why would you expect the body of the thread to differ?
Plain and simple truth.it is a sanity Obama thread....starts out as bullshit and devolves from that point on [:D]

Lucylastic -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 11:09:28 AM)

when it takes 26 posts to get half a response to a question asked in post 2 and goes straight to attacking me for daring to question him, no, I wont sit quietly.
However, point taken, Im off.

FR -

More fallout.

Pakistan demands US vacate suspected drone base

ISLAMABAD (AP) — The Pakistani government has demanded the U.S. vacate an air base within 15 days that the CIA is suspected of using for unmanned drones. The government issued the demand Saturday after NATO helicopters and jet fighters allegedly attacked two Pakistan army posts along the Afghan border, killing 24 Pakistani soldiers.

Islamabad outlined the demand in a statement it sent to reporters following an emergency defense committee meeting chaired by Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Shamsi Air Base is located in southwestern Baluchistan province. The U.S. is suspected of using the facility in the past to launch armed drones and observation aircraft to keep pressure on Taliban and al-Qaida militants in Pakistan's tribal region.

mnottertail -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 11:46:21 AM)

Yeah, like any of this is at all very relevant to anything at all. Not so, tough shit pakistan. Fuck with the bull and you get the horn.

MissAsylum -> RE: 24 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in NATO Attack (11/26/2011 11:47:14 AM)

Sanity, it would have helped if that was stated from the beginning.

I'm a centrist, so I cannot speak for liberal media (I tend to avoid politics all together since its like pulling teeth to get an unbiased report of this from either side. You're annoyed with that? Imagine how people like me feel when almost all information is corrupted by somebody's opinion. I tried to leave that "he said, she said" crap in high school.

Now, about this subject matter- I do not believe Obama is trying to be aloof about anything. He wouldn't have greyed so much in 3 years and look as if he hasn't slept in a month if he was being disconnected on purpose. But I digress.

He needs a break once in awhile to keep from jumping off a building. And Geez, it was the day after thanksgiving, he deserve a moment to himself. And I felt that way about Bush as well. I'm surprised that a president hasn't committed suicide from being under that much stress. So really, I don't see the big deal. You feel different, and that's fine too.

Unless somebody came and told Obama at that very moment what had happened, I cannot see how when he was playing golf and the events that transpired correlate with each other. If he was in the office that day, would it have prevented the attack? I don't see what he was doing at the time could have any kind of effect.

That's like holding a police officer responsible for a rape that happened on the other side of the city because he was getting breakfast from mcdonalds, in my opinion.

And i'm not attacking you, or any other members here, but are you(in the general sense) not criticizing Obama for playing golf while some type of upset was going on?

Not just here, but I have read in numerous other places of people getting on Obama's case for doing anything other than sitting in the office.

Taking Michelle on a date - BAD OBAMA! Taking a vacation with his children- BAD OBAMA! Playing basketball in the WH gym - BAD OBAMA!

Now, I am not defending obama. I think he was criticized more, only because bush and his wife did not appear to sleep in the same bed. However he was criticized and there is no denying that. At the same time, many people do give him more credit than he deserves, good or bad. And there is no denying that either.

He has opposing views to others - criticism is inevitable.

Therefore it would be more wise of you to direct your off topic snark toward her, my dear.
