RWOLF -> total slavery (11/29/2011 10:30:21 AM)

Greetings slaves,
This is a question, more a topic for discussion.
Here I wish to put aside all legal aspects as this is simply food for thought.

A slave by defination is someone who is owned and has no choices. Yet in profiles I see so many with limits and demands. Perhaps they are really submissives and not slaves.

Are you as a slave going into a relationship with the mindset that you will leave when it suits you or being a slave and remaining as such no matter what?

Can you accept that you are owned with no choice even that of release? Can someone in consensual slavery truely be a slave with no choices and not just walk away because they are unhappy at times?

An owner would have the right to sell or kill their slave in a real slave situation(not that it is legal)( and no I dont condone killing anyone). I speak here of the mindset of the slave. Can you as a slave set that in your mind as a possibility and accept that. Would that not be setting yourself up as a true slave, giving yourself over fully with no reservations and accepting everything as it comes?

Again, this is a topic for discussion about the MINDSET of a slave and how many actually see it as being true or false.

I hope this to become a great topic of DISCUSSION and NOT ARGEMENTS

The difference is FANTASY vs REALITY

myotherself -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 10:48:26 AM)

Master decided his definition of 'slave'.

I fitted that definition.

That's all that matters. I don't care what others think. He and I are the only ones that matter in this.

A slave by defination is someone who is owned and has no choices.
Slavery by definition is involuntary and illegal.

I'm with MLA, it's the difference between real slavery and choosing a role within your lifestyle.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 10:52:02 AM)

Well what if an owner elects to give the slave choices?
These topics always revolve around some guy's idea that his way of thinking is the only manner of thinking that's accurate.
If you want to imagine a scenario based on some historical form of slavery, then you need to define that.

I should hope that people in any kind of relationship work towards its lonngevity rather than bailing during rough spots, vanilla or otherwise.

If the needs are being met, then it would seem like a non issue. We are human first, there are always choices, and as such, we may choose to give up those choices.

I may get slaughtered for this but it seems to me anyone who would blindly become a slave to just be a slave, i would question their motivation.

RWOLF -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:05:34 AM)

@ anniezz338
no need for you to get slaughtered. I posted this as a topic of discussion and not an absolute.
Discussions are how we get different ideas in the open and we all take the best from each post to learn and expand

Fornica -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:07:24 AM)

Just checked out your profile. It doesn't sound at all like this is just "food for thought" for discussion purposes.
Turn off the pRon.

ChatteParfaitt -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:12:24 AM)

Excuse me my dude, everyone has choice. Even "real" slaves had choices, to run away, to be punished for not being obedient, even to die.

Ever wonder why slaves were imported from Africa when there were already plenty of good natives here? Because the Native Americans made piss poor slaves. From Columbus on, people (mostly the Spanish) tried to make the natives into slaves, and it just didn't work. They died.

Native Americans would rather die than be slaves. This was part of their MINDSET.

So yes, being a "real" slave is all about mindset. There just isn't anyway to get that by force. And since these days having a "real" slave is illegal, this is even more true.

As for your incredibly ignorant rant that slaves should not have limits or demands, I can only say slaves should not have limits or demands that don't mesh well with their masters. And since slaves get to choose who that is, it's becomes a non-issue except for those who live in some obscure castle realm type fantasy land.

But to each their own and all that crap.

Indeed, it is not. One of my friends was murdered by his husband and master; the perp bought a house for his parents from the inheritance. He has been in jail now for the past seven years and will be released next year. I hope that he drops dead the minute that he sets a foot outside of the jail. And no, my friend, who was a natural slave, had stipulated in their master-slave contract that his dom could not kill him nor neglect him in such a way as to cause his death.

The first duty of a dom is to protect his slave.

Fornica -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:17:53 AM)

Oh my god :(
I'm sorry for your loss, Rule.

Lockit -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:38:46 AM)

I'd rather see what it is about a master that makes him slave-worthy. We can't go by historical situations or what is legally defined. We must work with human beings as they are typically and as an individual.

How many slaves are there? By any definition, how many relate to being a slave? If it is hard to find someone that is what you would consider a real slave and some submissives are saying things you don't like and might consider themselves a slave... what is it to you? Why the frustration and complaints to the point of opening the discussion of true slave hearts? All you need is what works for you.

Coming in the guise of discussion to prove your stance or thought of what a true slave or slave heart is... is rather reviling about you.

If there is a true slave... then what is a true master. Lets start there.

searching4mysir -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:48:13 AM)

FR

I am my Master's slave. Before he became my master, however, I made sure that things that I found to be "hard limits" (such as sharing/poly, permanent marks, scat, watersports, animals and children, etc.) were not things he was interested in in the first place. I may have a slave heart but I was smart enough to choose my master wisely. Now I am free to give him free reign because I know he will not intentionally break me at my core because his limits are also my limits. We have similar goals/values. Before I gave myself to him, he may have been a Master but he wasn't MY Master.

littlewonder -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:49:23 AM)

When I was still single I indeed had limits. I simply found a man whose limits matched my own. Now that I am owned by him, I have no limits but I always have the choice to leave....it's my one and ONLY choice. Why would he want to keep someone who didn't want to be with him? Do you really want to live a miserable existence knowing the person is with you just because you didn't tell them they could go? Personally I'd rather be happy than miserable.

It's all about finding someone that matches your likes, dislikes, limits, preferences etc...not what you think a slave should or should not be.

caelestis -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:52:15 AM)

Aside from some severe mental fuckery, I believe that the thought of a slave with no choices is impossible. While the idea of a no-limits slave can be a hot one, the reality of something like that would (most likely) involve a span of non-consensual abuse and mentally breaking someone down.

MASTERLIX -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 11:59:06 AM)

Hey, I would encourage you to post this topic in my mentoring group, [Mod note - link removed]

This is a topic that has come up there many times.

But very quickly, I think the types of answers you receive will depend on where you are posting it. If you are asking this question in a Gorean group, you will receive a particular type of responses.

If you post it in a BDSM arena, you will receive a very cosmetic response to it.

If you post it in a LEATHER community arena, you may receive responses that fall in-between.

So, you may want to ask those responding to first say which lifestyle they belong. That may show you how things are shaping.

LOL... bdsm slavery will bring on cosmetic responses? Hummm, whatever could that mean? Not real compared to other communities? A pretty picture? Damn...

How about... let people live what they want to live and not be degrading to any of them unless they actually do harm to people?

It is true, where you ask and who you ask will make a difference because they have different views. However, to say that this one is more real and that one isn't... is rather... objectionable in my opinion. Cosmetic... seems like a statement on presentation using artificial aids.

Wow defining a true Master, hell I am not sure I can even define a submissive in my own mind, I’ve got companies to run, a seat on the school Board and I chair the Marine Corps League and Former Marine Officers Association, those commitments require a significant amount of my time so attending to a dominants need, well there just isn’t enough time, most of the time. And, I have a Tenor Sax that ever beacons me, even in my dreams a haunting melody surrounds me. Sailing the Gulf of Mexico never leaves my mind and it’s as if I am whore making money to feed that boat so I can venture out into the arms of a splendor filled magnificent lady. So I think I won’t try to define a Master but I am anxious to read what others say.

Cosmetic is very pretty and theatrical, but it doens't get the job done. Responses from each affiliation is fine until the rubber meets the road and all is well. Very individual is fine....but individual is individual. What do you want? I ask that after about 4 cosmos....go figure :)

Lockit -> RE: total slavery (11/29/2011 12:23:34 PM)

Now, now... lol... I only asked what a true master is to challenge the op to think about it and tell us what he thinks on that, since he seems to have the true slave down pat.

Go sail a boat or run a company damn it! lol
