Fine. Have Larry Ellis and Ernest Hemmingway instead, then.

Wasn't me who said Gates in the first place.

You could name names all day: Ambrose Bierce, Jean Toomer, Jack kerouac, Chuck Berry, F Scott Fitzgerald, and Andrew Wyeth all spring to mind as well.

Who do the 1% have, on the other hand? Paris Hilton and Truman Capote. Bleah.

How about Steve Forbes ? Now there is a joke as representative of the 1%. Did it the American way...inherited.

How about Oprah, Martha and the whole media aristocracy ? Who the hell were they and BTW, just what jobs do they create ? None

to the 99 percent:

Get off your asses and stuff envelopes for your hero o'dumbo. And take a shower. You stink. NOOO, not golden showers. Ok, take golden showers. Glad they are democrats! Makes the november elections so much more fun!

MissAsylum -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 5:11:09 AM)

Democrats and liberals don't even make up half of OWS.

I've talked to 30 ish people near my city's inner harbor, there is a VERY strong dislike for politicians. Many carry on political affiliations because it was their parent's party of choice, and i was the same way.

From the small amount of people i've talked to, Obama is a non factor of their concerns because he works for the 1%.

Doubtful they will be stuffing envelopes for somebody who they are that suspicious of.

I know 30 something people isn't many, buy i at least took it upon myself to ask those doing this.

How many of you have done that?

Just out of curiosity.

tazzygirl -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 5:12:51 AM)

From the people I have spoken too, most are like me. Not happy with the choices at all.

ArizonaBossMan -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 5:23:39 AM)

haha hilarious... then they are just disgruntled bums. You know, democrats. Come on, you can't be that dense. they will all wind up in o'dumbo's camp once all the bravo sierra is washed away. Let me put it this way... there are no conservative republicans in that OWS crowd. We have better things to do than poop and pee on each other. That's for this crowd. They are o'dumbo's problem. He owns them. I'm just hoping they stick around long enough to disrupt the democrat national convention next summer. Hey, maybe all of hollywood will "strike" and join their brothers and sisters, right? What a hoot. By the way, where is the "diversity" in this bunch? That's gotta be a bad thing, right? Sharpton likes em though. Maybe you can get ole reverend jeremiah wright down to those things.

Wow.  That bothers me a LOT.  Part of the entire America concept is the mobility.  The idea that someone, through merit and hard work, can rise.  IMO, that's part of the reason America has been so successful, is that people get rewarded for their contributions, and as a result, we get patents and new company startups disproportionately compared to the rest of the world.

Opportunity and reward.

Another nothing thread about something a nobody said, as relayed through a far left website. This one being an unidentified nobody... [:D]

If I post a quote from an unnamed individual rioter, would that serve as an indictment of the entire movement? I will even use a mainstream media source.

Wow,I wonder if this clown ever thinks about the 1% of Americans who serve in our military, protecting this douche-bag`s way of life?

They are part of the 99.

MissAsylum -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 5:31:28 AM)

Nope, you're a hoot. Lots of them go home, shower, go to work, then cone back and protest. Shampoo, rinse, repeat.

Silly to me, but that's what they want to do.

And please, don't be so dense yourself to admit they are not Obama fans. The thing with people, you can't always predict what all of them are going to do.

I can predict that you will childishly change Obama's last name in all of your posts. Are all conservatives the same way? Not at all.

"Liberalism" (cough, cough) punishes said hard work and success while rewarding those who seek failure, Steven...

Yep, and i cry over my masters degree every night because of it.

Well maybe not every night, just when i look at it.

DarkSteven -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 5:44:04 AM)

Sanity, that's the conservatives' take.  The liberals' take is that the wealthy contribute little but disdain and manipulation of the economy.

The idea of life (not just the US) is "work hard, get ahead".

When people have been working hard, and are nowhere near "ahead", that's when things get messy and you get those above listed thoughts.

tazzygirl -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 5:59:18 AM)

Or work hard, only to get screwed in the end... yeah

Work Hard, and get it all wiped out when you need to declare bankruptcy to cover your catastrophic medical bills...

tazzygirl -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 6:04:08 AM)

Not just that. Look how many people worked honestly hard at their jobs, only to lose them because businesses down sized after the bubble burst. Many have lost their jobs, the homes, their savings, their pride.

Good, honest, hard working people who put those companies on top... got screwed in the end.

"Let them eat cake"

Its coming.

MissAsylum -> RE: 1%er supporter doubts that 'Anyone Great' ever came out of the 99%. (11/30/2011 6:10:57 AM)

Gee, thought we already were there in some aspect.

"Get a job!"

"Dude, McDonald's isnt even hiring."

Yeah...i had to stand behind a person in mcdonalds being told there was no open positions....at a 24 hour one. If that isnt depressing, i dont know what is.

But just because there is opportunity does not mean its a guarantee. I read a letter to the editor recently.. it talked about the guy that invented C-programing, Dennis Ritchie.. and a comparision of his life versus Steve Jobs.. One guy was more of a cog in the wheel, the other guy strikes out on his own with his partners.. totally different end results.. one guy is not widely known (except to programers) and not rich, the other became rich and famous.. Two people, two different results..
