Trump to Moderate Republican Debate
By JEREMY W. PETERS
It’s officially a reality television Republican primary now.

Donald Trump is pairing up with Newsmax, the conservative magazine and news Web site, to moderate a presidential debate in Des Moines on Dec. 27.

“Our readers and the grass roots really love Trump,” said Christopher Ruddy, chief executive of Newsmax Media. “They may not agree with
him on everything, but they don’t see him as owned by the Washington establishment, the media establishment.”

Mr. Trump’s role in the debate, which will be broadcast on the cable network Ion Television, is sure to be one of the more memorable moments in a primary season that has already delivered its fair share of circus-like spectacle.

And some people wonder why other people think the republicans wanna loose the next election ...why??
Oh ya... Its turning into a clusterfuck of all farces

Trumps Tweet yesterday stating Obama will go to war with Iran to win an election, really gives him that extra spark of dead space between his ears(thats not hair)

Hillwilliam -> RE: How to add some real class to a debate (12/2/2011 1:44:31 PM)

mnottertail -> RE: How to add some real class to a debate (12/2/2011 1:51:02 PM)

Well, if Cains old lady don't cut his nuts off, I would say he looks very vulnerable.

If Paul opens his mouth he will be working for 'the down the road political run' company.

And if Romney don't do something smart (I really don't think he can because he aint)...

He's gonna look like death warmed over, standin on the street corner, beggin the fuck outta lifesavers.....

Hell, Trump wouldn't be able to live without the media to admire his Trumpiliciousness!  The withdrawal might be life-threatening.

This is going to be the best train wreck, evah!

Newsmax is like ten times more bias than fox and ten times more corrupt than Glenn Beck.

Add the Donald and you have someone about as classy as Jersey Housewives to run it.

This is going to have very high ratings, tho.

The reality TV metaphor works for me.

Though, let's face it, just about any one of the Kardashians has far more substance than any of the GOP contenders. And they're far more telegenic too. [:D]

What the fuck, the only reason to watch is to see who gets voted off the island next.
Politics has never been "high class",it has always been a dirty business...but this is just a new low [&o]

Wow. Looks like they've all made a pact like Bonnie and Clyde to go down together.
I have sympathy for Huntsman who
has some dignity. Probably not much after
this pony show.
Somewhere Abe Lincoln and Stephen
Douglas are shaking their heads in disgust.

farglebargle -> RE: How to add some real class to a debate (12/3/2011 7:48:11 AM)

This isn't a "debate", it's a "reality show". And with this cute trick the RNC shows they're unworthy of anyone's respect.

Moonhead -> RE: How to add some real class to a debate (12/3/2011 11:17:15 AM)

The last RNC member who deserved any respect was Nixon: they've been heading downhill since Ford. Do you expect them to pull somebody worth a shit out of their arses after forty years of incompetent, morally vacuous cunts like Raygun and the Chimp?

farglebargle -> RE: How to add some real class to a debate (12/3/2011 3:27:54 PM)

Not really. I knew it was "Game Over" for real Conservatives when Frum threw us all out of the party for disagreeing on the invasion of Iraq.

well the two with the most respect(in my opinion) have already decided they DO NOT want to take part
Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul have declined
Acocording to the gothamist(from a tweet)

Not everyone was as overjoyed as we were when news came out yesterday that Donald "The Least Racist" Trump will moderate the GOP presidential debate in Des Moines on Dec. 27th. At least two candidates have proven they still have a shred of self-dignity, bowing out of The Apprentice: Ridiculous Posturing Edition: Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul. And Trump of course accepted the rejections graciously, calling Paul “a clown-like candidate” who like Huntsman has “inconsequential poll numbers or a chance of winning.”
Then again, Paul's national campaign chairman, Jesse Benton, really did lay into our favorite national used car salesman in Paul's official statement about not participating in the televised event. Where was Paul's fiery enthusiasm last spring when Trump was running for President Of Obama's Birth Certificate Authentication Industries?
The selection of a reality television personality to host a presidential debate that voters nationwide will be watching is beneath the office of the Presidency and flies in the face of that office's history and dignity.
Mr. Trump's participation as moderator will distract from questions and answers concerning important issues such as the national economy, crushing federal government debt, the role of the federal government, foreign policy, and the like. To be sure, Mr. Trump's participation will contribute to an unwanted circus-like atmosphere.
Mr. Trump's selection is also wildly inappropriate because of his record of toying with the serious decision of whether to compete for our nation's highest office, a decision he appeared to make frivolously.
Trump responded in turn, "Few people take Ron Paul seriously and many of his views and presentation make him a clown-like candidate. I am glad he and Jon Huntsman, who has inconsequential poll numbers or a chance of winning, will not be attending the debate and wasting the time of the viewers who are trying very hard to make a very important decision."
While the "champion of the Constitution" felt it appropriate to register his intense disgust at what a clown show the Republican primaries have become (what, no room to mention subliminal smoking ads or sexual harassment claims?), Huntsman's press secretary Tim Miller issued a much simpler statement about Huntsman declining to participate. But Miller got in the last laugh, tweeting, “We look forward to watching Mitt & Newt suck up to The Donald with a big bowl of popcorn.”

LMFAO wonder if this is gonna be another NON event!!!

tweakabelle -> RE: How to add some real class to a debate (12/3/2011 4:41:22 PM)

Whoever owns the movie rights to the GOP candidate selection process is sitting a blockbuster, a goldmine!

Danny de Vito as Ron Paul, the late Charles Bronson as Newt, Eddie Murphy as Cain, Goldie Hawn as Bachmann and Palin, Richard Gere as Huntsman, Schwartzenegger as himself, and Charlie Sheen is a shoo-in as Trump.

It'll never wash at the ballot box but hey the box office is quite a different matter. [:D]

Do you actually believe this ?
Nixon deserves no respect,none,zip,nada.....Nixon convinced a whole generation(mine) of Americans that they could not,for a moment trust their government...and by the way he demonstrated that our government did not trust us either.
What a complete shitheel the man was.
