(Does that muzzle look like it's pointed in a safe direction?)

Why dont you provide some context to make your point. One random SWAT team member doesnt make a "police state".

That is the safe way to carry that weapon.. and the trigger is behind the man's palm. Not to mention the muzzle is pointing at the column.

A bit of context would be good but if the context is the fact that our police forces have become so militarized then I would have to....uhg.....er belch....puke.......go along with fargle on this one.

Edited to add:

Of course I would presume fargle is in favor of more gun control and these are the guys who'll be breakin down doors lookin fer guns assuming a proactive enforcement.  Even without proactive enforcement, at least at first, eventually they will be all over us like flies on shit. It's drug law enforcement that created all these guys.

"Gun Control" let Hitler disarm everyone. No, I'm not for it. See also: Jews for the preservation of firearms ownership.

In a city that crowded,I don`t think there is any safe direction for the muzzle.

Tazzy is correct and I`d bet that where that muzzle points is about half of what the cop is thinking about.

These men and women are protecting us from would-be terrorists and the best armed thugs in the world.

We should give the police every means to do their jobs and not be out gunned by criminals.I don`t care if it looks "militarized".

God bless them.

It's the intense training.  Safety is second nature to these guys. Not only that, they practice safe muzzle direction and *not* shooting each other when they go pouring in through an entry way toward armed assailants.

Where did you ever get the idea that hitler disarmed anyone? Private ownership of firearms was illegal in germany long before hitler ever came to power.

"safe carry" would be muzzle down. This cop is in the "alert" position.
and the trigger is behind the man's palm.

On that particular weapon the trigger is behind the cops wrist.

Not to mention the muzzle is pointing at the column.

From the angle of the photo there is no way to tell just where the muzzel is pointed.

This might be worthwhile reading for you.

The liberal Weimar Republic passed a Firearm Law in 1928 requiring extensive police records on gun owners. Hitler signed a further gun control law in early 1938. This asshole used registration lists to not only confiscate guns from those in Germany who were not affiliated with the Snotzi Party but he did it all over Europe where the Snotzis were able to get their hands on other gun registration lists. Ya ever wonder why so many gun owners are apposed to gun registration ???

LMFAO........I've seen them.  I didn't see any SWAT Teams initially.  I didn't see anyone capable of making a head shot either.  With that kind of  marksmanship it makes me wonder how good their SWAT team training was at the time.

And your comparison doesn't make sense.  LA cops fucked up so SWAT teams are unsafe fuck ups too??    Still LMFAO

Just to clarify, I'm not sayin we shouldn't have SWAT teams. They have a place in law enforcement. They save lives of civilians and also other police officers because they take over when perilous situations come up.  My problem is that there's just way to freakin many of em.

Your link does not work:
Following Germany's defeat in World War I, the Weimar Republic passed very strict gun control laws essentially banning all gun ownership, in an attempt both to stabilize the country and to comply with the Versailles Treaty of 1919. The Treaty of Versailles itself imposed severe gun restrictions on German citizens. But even before the Treaty was signed, the German parliament of the Weimar Republic enacted legislation prohibiting gun possession: on January 13, 1919, the Reichstag enacted legislation requiring the surrender of all guns to the government. This law, as well as the August 7, 1920, Law on the Disarmament of the People passed in light of the Versailles Treaty, remained in effect until 1928, when the German parliament enacted the Law on Firearms and Ammunition (April 12, 1928)--a law which relaxed gun restrictions and put into effect a strict firearm licensing scheme.

Gun control was not initiated at the behest or on behalf of the Nazis--it was in fact designed to keep them, or others of the same ilk, from executing a revolution against the lawful government. In the strictest sense, the law succeeded--the Nazis did not stage an armed coup.
