LMFAO........I've seen them.  I didn't see any SWAT Teams initially.  I didn't see anyone capable of making a head shot either.  With that kind of  marksmanship it makes me wonder how good their SWAT team training was at the time.

And your comparison doesn't make sense.  LA cops fucked up so SWAT teams are unsafe fuck ups too??    Still LMFAO

Los angeles swat is probably representative of most big city swat teams...my point is that they(swat) are not "highly trained". They may have more training than a regular cop but hardly in the catagory of "highly trained"

"safe carry" would be muzzle down. This cop is in the "alert" position.

Alert carry is in front of him... at least according to the Marines. I suppose you can argue with them if you wish.

Not enough of an issue for me to argue over.

"Gun Control" let Hitler disarm everyone. No, I'm not for it. See also: Jews for the preservation of firearms ownership.

Where did you ever get the idea that hitler disarmed anyone? Private ownership of firearms was illegal in germany long before hitler ever came to power.

Maybe this could be one of many places he got the idea.    http://constitutionalistnc.tripod.com/hitler-leftist/id14.html

This might be worthwhile reading for you.

Your link does not work:
Following Germany's defeat in World War I, the Weimar Republic passed very strict gun control laws essentially banning all gun ownership, in an attempt both to stabilize the country and to comply with the Versailles Treaty of 1919. The Treaty of Versailles itself imposed severe gun restrictions on German citizens. But even before the Treaty was signed, the German parliament of the Weimar Republic enacted legislation prohibiting gun possession: on January 13, 1919, the Reichstag enacted legislation requiring the surrender of all guns to the government. This law, as well as the August 7, 1920, Law on the Disarmament of the People passed in light of the Versailles Treaty, remained in effect until 1928, when the German parliament enacted the Law on Firearms and Ammunition (April 12, 1928)--a law which relaxed gun restrictions and put into effect a strict firearm licensing scheme.

Gun control was not initiated at the behest or on behalf of the Nazis--it was in fact designed to keep them, or others of the same ilk, from executing a revolution against the lawful government. In the strictest sense, the law succeeded--the Nazis did not stage an armed coup.

The link works for me.......maybe you need a new computer.

Long guns are nothing new.

Other than the kevlar helmet(which the military rarely uses if ever)there is nothing the man has that says "military".

Pistol with a few extra clips ....standard.

A thing of mace......standard.

A BPV.....standard.

A radio.....standard.

He probably has a high-end full face respirator in the sack on his chest and that`s it.

These men and women are protecting us from would-be terrorists and the best armed thugs in the world.

What is a "would-be" terrorist?  So they arrest themselves?

We should give the police every means to do their jobs and not be out gunned by criminals.I don`t care if it looks "militarized".

Lets give them nukes so they are the only ones left that will fix everything!

God bless them.

Ding a ling time to fucking wake up already!

Guerena grabbed his assault rifle and was pointing it at the SWAT team, which was trying to serve a narcotics search warrant as part of a multi-house drug crackdown, when the team broke down the door. At first the Pima County Sheriff's Office said that Guerena fired first, but on Wednesday officials backtracked and said he had not. "The safety was on and he could not fire," according to the sheriff's statement.

Tucson SWAT Team Shot Iraq War Vet 60 Times

SWAT team members fired 71 times and hit Guerena 60 times, police said.

In a frantic 911 call, Vanessa Guerena begged for medical help for her husband. "He's on the floor!" she said, crying, to the 911 operator. "Can you please hurry up?"

Asked if law enforcement was inside or outside the house, she told the operator, according to a transcript of the call, that they were inside. "They were ... going to shoot me. And I put my kid in front of me."

A report by ABC News affiliate KGUN found that more than an hour had passed before the SWAT team let the paramedics work on Guerena. By then he was dead.

I beg to differ, they can follow orders, and until you get up to delts etc they are not well trained, a big fucking boy scout camp.  Didnt work for the AZ vet that was gunned down by a city execution squad.

Which of the tactical positions that the marines list do you feel this cop is in?

No they aren't. There are no "would be terrorists" roaming around the streets, and the people of New York City are essentially disarmed.

And consider that ESPECIALLY in New York, our court's ruling in Greishaber v City of Albany clearly states that there is NO DUTY to protect you -- even after you call 911 for help and are told it's on the way...

Of course, the PR firms their unions hire would LIKE YOU TO BELIEVE that the police are there to help you. But we're all too smart to fall for their spin, aren't we?

Given that SWAT tactics ORIGINATED with Daryl Gates and the LAPD, it's not too far a stretch to think the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. I don't believe paramilitary troops belong on patrol. If you REALLY FEEL they're needed to respond to hostage crisis or bank robbery then sure, equip them, train them, and then let them sit on their asses until they're needed. If you feel they're then underutilized and need to be doing something, then your original idea of needing them in the first place was wrong.

I would beg to differ on that. SWAT, at least most of them are well trained.  Many of them are ex military.

Well trained compared to the rest of the gentlemen who carry a badge, yes.

Well trained compared to a grunt straight out of boots, no.

Well trained compared to the ex special operator I turned loose on em to help with hand-to-hand training. Fuckin' hysterical.

Most of the ones I worked with (to help train them) weren't ex military.

A lot of them were recruited straight out of HS.

ETA lately, a lot of police are vets but My experience was prior to Iraq 1.

Fargle. Wanna know what they call a police officer who goes into a big drug bust without being well armed?

Dead

Your picture has absolutely no context. Hell, he could have been posing for a recruiting poster with unloaded weapons for all we know.

On the other hand, he might have had a squad of his friends a foot away 'stacking' for an entry.

OOOH! DRUGS!

Give it a rest. We're all tired of paying for these jerk-off to play soldier under the boogy-man of DRUGS!

No-one is buying that horseshit now that we've seen the jackbooted thugs stomping on the pot-smoking hippies peacefully protesting their student loans being a complete waste of money.

If those are the DRUGS! we're being saved from, the cure is worse than the disease.

On the balance, I think SWAT teams have killed more completely innocent people than violent criminals. I know of one high-profile case in Arizona... I'm sure if we could get these guys to open their books for an honest accounting, we'd see they cause more trouble than they resolve.

tl;dr: We don't need paramilitary troops to enforce the law. They're a liability, not an asset.
