Exactly, Bita. And why else would a 60 year old woman take bc pills for? Not like she will get pregnant. Hormone replacement, cancer treatment, PMS, PMDD, acne, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome relief.

I wonder how "the govt." got involved in this in the first place?
In days prior the family took care of this kind of thing. And churches had homes for unwed mothers.
I wonder which administration started this.
I just don't think that "govt." should be involved in this kind of thing.

Which then placed the baby up for adoption, or put them into orphanages.

Then the sexual revolution. There are always consequences to every revolution.

Then came men (dont read that as all men) backing out on obligations. As long as men held each other to the standard of taking care of their responsibilities, it was ok. Men stopped, telling each other it was ok, she was just a whore. Now, its "prove thats my baby". And even with that proof, men sill wont accept responsibility.

The government had no choice but to step in and take over where men failed.

In all seriousness. Priests were not, originally, celibate. I still consider it unnatural to force a man, or a woman, to chose celibacy in order to follow a vocation.

FR

For those who just chalk birth control up to just being birth control, what about when its used for other problems?

For example, i had suffered from PMDD since i was 13 years old. Every month for a week, i was in bed - sick, exhausted, depressed, and in horrid pain.

I was given birth control when i was 20 to help with the problem.

So let's see, that's 7 years, 1 week a month...84 weeks...21 months. So because of the PMDD, i have missed out on almost 2 years of living.

Couldn't afford birth control since my parents were getting divorced so that means NO money, and the planned parenthood near me moved to another facility 2 cities away.

I've tried nearly everything to help with the PMDD, except for getting my lady parts removed.

The only pill that my body responds well to costs 98 bucks without insurance. Just been able to buy it under insurance 5 months ago. I've spent $3,038 on one medication, and i take 4 others that i've also just been able to buy under insurance.

Its fucking expensive.

So i shouldn't get help with that because it helps prevent women from getting pregnant?

Bingo. BCP's are the only treatment (not cure) available for people like me who suffer from endometriosis. I don't need birth control. I'm sterile. I do, however, need BCP's to treat my endo.

me toooo
it makes me sick, it sky highs my bp, I dont smoke anymore, so thats something, but I need them for the same reason, Ive been sterile for 20 years.
Its the only thing that keeps the cysts and fibroids growth/pain down.
They sure as hell were useless as birthcontrol tho

tazzygirl -> RE: Support No-Cost Birth Control for All Women (12/5/2011 12:23:02 PM)

As a result of them being labled birth control pills, that treatment would be denied to you both. Which should not be allowed, regardless of religion.

and what are the ACTUAL figures regarding females having six kids with five fathers?

Tossed out an an example lucy. There are some women around here that I'm not sure if they know what causes it.

what about the fathers responsilbility ? the fact that birth control doesnt work well, they would be looked down on if they had abortions by the same people who decry them having sex and kids with so many men.
Yes eugenics is not the way to go without real numbers, real cases and REAL solutions, not the welfare cadilac queen fear bullshit
I very very often agree with you on many many things, but this we have a difference:)

Lucy, sometimes, they don't know who the daddy is or he's in jail or he's just plain useless.

so are some of the mothers, but they have to bear responsibility for the rest of their lives, not just towards the chidren but society too.

which is why religious employers should not be allowed to opt out of the new requirement. They are assuming that BCP are just for BC.. but even if it is used for BC, its no one elses business (BC might even be for a sexually active teenager who has not agreed to sign anything) and imo no employers right to dicate personal behaviour of their employees or dependants..

Its a non-issue. If Obamacare isnt repealed there will be no employer coverage in 2-3 years.

same way they got involved with supporting bringing these kids into the world via medicaid via taxdollars by mothers who are broke as a joke, dads broke as a joke, or long gone... welfare ... etc. taxpayer .. voter ... welfare .. taxpayer .. the endless conundrum

You can often get condoms for free at Planned Parenthood.

Your profile is Not Found, otherwise I would have provided a list for your location. My state has multiple options for free condoms:

Yes but anything given free is typically worth what you pay for it. The really nice, spermicidally-lubed condoms I have to buy on my own.

hes got a restraining order against him and charged with ABH.
but she is getting a lot of blame and poo flung at her from his friends at uni and even some of her girlies are less than friendly
a for getting him into trouble
b for not letting him do what he wants,
c for not being on the pill, so its her own fault

Was she being sexually active? (And yes, that's a rhetorical question given what you've already said.) If she was, then she should be on the pill or some other form of birth control anyway. Does that justify the violence, not at all. But why should she get to demand he wear the condom when it's just as easy, if not easier, for her to swallow a tiny pill (or use one of the many other methods for birth control)?

tazzygirl -> RE: Support No-Cost Birth Control for All Women (12/5/2011 3:24:32 PM)

can you imagine these forums if submissive women started saying no?

Lucylastic -> RE: Support No-Cost Birth Control for All Women (12/5/2011 3:26:33 PM)

because you she has a health issue with taking them, so yanno, thanks, but no thanks.
Fucking hell
