seekerofslut -> Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 2:31:17 PM)

Made a bet with a guy the other night, witnessed by the bartender. I do not believe the DNC is fully behind Obama. Besides being an empty suit he's way to radical and incompetent even for the liberal Democrat establishment excepting the far far left wing. I also do not believe that the DNC is willing to just give the election to the Republicans.

My bet is that the DNC convention will not be a perfunctory rubber stamp for O, but that O shall not receive the nomination on the first or second ballot [:(] whereupon the convention shall be declared open and on nomination Hillary will be chosen as the Democratic nominee of the party.

My bet is for $100 and I have 2 :1 odds. [:D]

Obama will be the nominee; it would be suicidal for the Dems not to support him. The question is not whether he will be the nominee or not; the real question is whether you'd like your crow baked or fried.

I hear they have Obamney`s chances of winning the nomination in the high 60s.

This is actually incorrect. Intrade puts Obama's chances at winning the Democratic nomination at 92.9%

Bear in mind, I am not accusing you of lying. I am simply pointing out that your facts are inaccurate.

Besides your opinion are there any other indictors that might support your contention?

Besides being an empty suit he's way to radical and incompetent

Could you please list for us his radical and incompetent actions or must we rely on your ex-cathedra pronouncements?

I also do not believe that the DNC is willing to just give the election to the Republicans.

Uncany grasp of the obvious.

Sometimes tanslated as:
"A fool and his money are soon parted."
Please do not think that I have called you a fool for I have not...I do believe however, that you have made a foolish bet.

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 5:58:32 PM)

as my dear ol mum says.. more money than sense:)
But the post does help one decide how to assess someones abilty to discern facts

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 6:58:31 PM)

In order for you to win that bet, wouldnt Hillary have to agree to run?

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 7:15:41 PM)

I will not seek,nor shall I accept........lol

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 7:40:47 PM)

I coulda sworn she was pretty clear on her desire not to run.

lovmuffin -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 8:03:56 PM)

She'd do it in a heart beat if it came down to it.

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 9:00:53 PM)

She has been asked... begged... and still she has said no. For someone to assume that she would change her mind and place a bet on that.... as thompson said.. a foolish bet.

lovmuffin -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 9:07:37 PM)

I agree with that on the bet  and I doubt all that will happen.but I still think she would do it if she were put up to it..

tazzygirl -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 9:14:58 PM)

People have tried to put her up to it.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/hillary-clinton-below-zero-chance-ll-run-against-194306857.html

Don't worry, Barack Obama. Dick Cheney's charm won't work on Hillary Clinton.
Two days after the former vice president floated the idea of a 2012 presidential run by the current secretary of state, Clinton summarily rejected the suggestion.
The chances are "below zero," Clinton told CNN's Alison Kosik on Friday. "One of the great things about being secretary of state is I am out of politics. I am not interested in being drawn back into it by anybody."

I would like to take this bet.

The only way Obama won't be the nominee is if he's dead or dying of some terminal disease or anything else as extreme.

Winterapple -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 10:47:33 PM)

The shit bartenders have to listen to.
Obama is not a radical he is a moderate.
The people in the party who disagree with
him most are the far left.
The party is united behind him and that includes the Clintons. She would never
do what you speculated. I don't think she
would seek the nomination if Obama didn't
run.
The convention is going to be a easy peasy
lovefesty commercial for Barack Obama
who will be reelected president of the United
States.
Always tip your bartender.

TheHeretic -> RE: Obama the nominee??? (12/4/2011 11:08:31 PM)

You're going to lose that bet, outside of incapacitation. If he is able to run, the race will remain his to lose.

First of all it's too, and secondly she has already declared she is not running.
