Mine was a mistake.  When I first got involved in D/s, I chose the name because I thought my desires were dark.  It turned out that, compared to everyone else, they're kind of tame.

Also, I thought of myself as dark because of my Mediterranean ancestry and skin tone.  Of course, whenever I talk with a black or Hispanic, it just makes me feel misnamed.

When I type my AOL email address into my Ipad, it autocorrects it to "semisweet".  Since "semisweet" was already taken on CM, I chose iamsemisweet.

Interesting. It may have been a mistake, but I think it's a great name; gives an aura of mystery and wickedness. Just my opinion, for what it's worth.

Mine is pretty straight forward. I enjoy mummification bondage. Stretch wrap & duct tape, latex and a few other forms as well. :)

Mine states two qualities I have that are very much part of me. I'm quiet and like to observe things around me. I spend a lot of time doing quiet things, reading, etc... But I am also curious to a fault sometimes. That saying... curiosity killed the cat.. yes that's me.

Reserve, repose, inquisitive, exotic...all good things.

Mine is inspired by a character I made up when I was younger, and doing a lot of drawing. Somewhere in all of that, it dawned on me that a lot of the characters were personifications of personlity thingies. :p that character is fitting for this place.
And the "bopeep" business is an obvious play. :p

And such a wonderful "character" you are, LBP. You add much to this site.

Duskypearls... <smiles>

Interesting topic... although it appears the FAKE is not very appreciative.
(One needn't read many "you wills" in a profile without arriving at the obvious deduction, eh?)
Ahhh yes, back to topic!

My name was NOT chosen as a result of the Wizard of Oz...although many people are assuming so.
I am a very feminine Domme, and love to wear high heels. So you will surely hear the "click of (my) heels" when I am near.

As for the avatar attached to my profile (since many people ask), it is my own artwork.

Looking forward to hearing some more stories,
Clickofheels

I am fascinated by the many beautiful and unusual usernames on this site, and wonder if any would be willing to share their meanings, and the reasons behind having chosen them.

I came up with the top 500 best ones....gave away about 15 or so just to get the ball rolling/goose the market so to speak...now I make a six figure income simply on the monthly rentals of same.

I've always thought yours was very clever.

Loose Elastic

A nickname I had in nursing school,(1980 ish) ............back in the day we all lived in the same "hut" but in separate rooms, I would go out partying on the weekend and occasionally came back with my underwear in my pocket. I had a message board on my door and people would leave notes to loose elastic. it morphed slightly.

Ive been Lucylastic online for 16 years. My family accepts calls for Lucy, or Luce.

OMG, that's too funny for words! How clever of you. And your underwear was in your pocket because of why???......Please, finish the story. Enquiring minds want to know!

Would me telling you that I have an extreme dislike of underwear be a good reason?
grins well it was worth a try
To be honest , I had a bit of a "free spirit" and knickerless was so much easier in the car. or where ever I found myself:)

edited to add, the dislike on undies is true for what its worth, but I was a "slut" too LOL

Hahaha. So technically, that would make you the "Underless Wonder," wouldn't it?!

I know what you mean, whoever thought such desires would come to be considered banal. Funny how that works.

DP, You still haven't told us the meaning of yours.  Yes, we really want to know.

As for mine, I had developed this proclivity for geographic type screen names based on where I was living.  When I created this name, I lived in Lafayette, NJ.  I don't live there anymore, but I grew to like the name, and to seriously dislike creating a new one, so I left it.  At first I got all kinds of questions about where I was from, now few people bother with that particular question.

That is the first I've heard of geographical usernames. How different. It does seem to suit you.

Because I didn't want to use the name the public commonly knows me by I had to pick one that "fit" So I picked one that had more than one meaning, to me at least. The first does have a little to do with bdsm. W.H.A.P. is what I do so most people that see the name can get the thought behind it. The deeper one that few understand is a personal thing. I believe everyone is guilty of something and everyone should feel real pain for what they have done. I believe it can raise them to a higher level within themself that they may not be able to reach any other way. Add to that the belief that pain is, in and of it's self, immortal and you will end up with my name.

*oh* and I hate the word mistress so I never let anyone call me that. I let them slide if they can remember to just say Miss.
