Pretty simple. Who was the best James Bond?

GreedyTop -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:00:56 PM)

Roger. While I think that my lust for Sean is no secret, I find him much more appealing NOW than I did as bond.

windchymes -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:04:12 PM)

That's funny, Greedy, I was about so say just about the same thing, GMTA, lol. Maybe it's because the first Bond movie I ever actually watched was The Spy Who Loved Me, so to me, Moore is Bond. But Sean Connery is pretty darn suave and sexy yessir.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:19:05 PM)

I love Bond movies.  I hate to say this, but I actually preferred Roger Moore to Sean, because I really think Sean did not get devastatingly sexy until he was older.  He actually improved with age.  While I felt Pierce had a few more Bond movies in him, and I was initially resistant to him being replaced by Daniel Craig, Craig has since really, really won me over.

VirginPotty -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:23:23 PM)

I chose Pierce Brosnan simply because he was HOT as Remington Steele!
I never watched the "Bond" movies so my vote was strictly due to the RS show!

I think Sean is hot too but reading about how he thinks it's ok to give a woman a beat down if he deems it necessary made that hotness dwindle significantly.
Now if he claimed to be a dom in the lifestyle then that would have been acceptable but he didn't so he just appeared to be an abuser.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:23:47 PM)

I haven't seen Daniel Craig, but Connery was always my favorite. Not because of his "hotness" -- I think he's awesome, not necessarily hot -- but because I just preferred his handling of the character.

I am a complete Bond snob. For ME, there are only two Connery and Craig. All of the others were pathetic pussies.

Winterapple -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:33:25 PM)

I have to go with Sean.
I think he personifies the Bond
presented in the books(bit of a bastard)
better and I prefer the earlier films
up to when Craig took over and they
revamped the brand.

I like Daniel Craig as Bond but Connery
is more Flemings Bond.

Craig definitely makes a badass bond. The problem is that he looks positively Russian.

I wonder if someone will give George Lazenby a vote?
He did have the good fortune of having
Diana Rigg as his leading lady.

GreedyTop -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 1:40:57 PM)

wait.. how was Moore not a bastard? seduce them, fuck them, and leave them....! !!

Big Fan here too, I preferred Moore to Connery as a teen/young adult (till Connery reached fifty I think. hes been hottest ever since), I love Pierce but he didnt last long, and Craig has grown on me, Lazenby ,nah never a big fan.

I voted for Roger Moore, he was very sexy and adept... [:)]

I did also like Pierce Brosnan tho, dead sexy him too.. but Moore was the first Bond i saw..

I like Sean Connery as an actor but i dont find him sexy at all... for sexy i need the guy to have a full head of hair that i can grab on to...

samboct -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 3:21:50 PM)

I'm probably the only guy who will pick Dalton. I've talked to a couple of women friends and their comment is that he lacks sex appeal, but he's a fine actor, and he took the role to a more serious place than Moore- who certainly played the most lighthearted Bond.

I tend to like all of the Bond movies, so I'm really hard pressed to have a favorite. Note that Ian Fleming thought that David Niven should play Bond- and in Casino Royale, he got his wish. I suspect Roger may have been the closest to Flemings vision. I wasn't crazy about the books- the movies are much more fun.

Daniel Craig is damn good in the role, but the movies have morphed into something much meaner and grittier. They're certainly not something you'd bring a kid to- but I saw Diamonds are Forever when it first opened at age 10 I think.

My biggest grumble with the movies involves the last couple of Pierce movies- who also did a great job btw- the overuse of special effects rather than stunts. I read about the making of Live and Let Die- they put a lot of work into those stunts and I think it shows up. Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day have lousy stunts.

I think the role of women in making these movies memorable is underrated. I like all the guys playing Bond, but it dawns on me that the movies I really like such as Thunderball, Goldfinger, Octopussy, The Spy Who Loved Me, Never Say Never Again, and Pierce's best- the World is Not Enough- all have really striking women.

Sam

of course the women were striking,.. but the reason (imo) that the role of women is underrated is that the women never repeat, its always a new one,.. like they were an easily replaced adornment.. but look at the tv series The Avengers.. in particular the ones with Diana Rigg.. she was the draw,.. the sex appeal.. you knew she was always going to be in the next one.. what would the Bond series be if the female had always been the same girl? lets say they kept Diana Rigg? or at least kept the same girl for as long as they kept the same Bond.. hmmm... [:)]

Daddysredhead -> RE: Who was the best Bond? (12/5/2011 4:48:08 PM)

I simply find Sean Connery highly fuckable... *le sigh*
