You say that like goth is a bad thing hahaha. You know I didn't mean the new "gothic" kids, or the new emo kids. I rather miss the old goth, but than I'm old.

Well, I'm an old goth, and there's quite a few of us still around. I've even seen some younger ones that are actual goths as well, not just the emos or the cybergoths. A club I go to, when I can, is just awesome as the goth room is a big mix of all sorts of goths, all ages. Going there makes me very proud to be an old goth. It's nice to see we're appreciated by some, anyway, and being a mum should never stop your gothiness.

Thanks. The club is in the heart of good old Birmingham, not far from the O2 Academy. I don't get there often enough, really, but it's got such a lovely group of people who go regularly, and the music's just awesome. I tend not to bother with the other two rooms, and being as the goth room is called The Dungeon, I was always bound to love it...

Cool. I'm hoping to get there in the new year. Lack of funds have stopped us going since June, but it's high on my list of priorities once the expense of Christmas is out of the way. I hope you enjoy it when you go, anyway.

Well, my kids love to keep reminding me how 'old' I am, even if I still feel like I'm eighteen, and I act it when I go to that club, as well... Always nice to meet a fellow goth, either way.

As long as they're listening to them and not trading them with their mates for some dubstep, you'll be fine...

No chance of that, his mates mums would kill him for corrupting their little cherubs.

Ah, yes. I forgot how evil the Sister's stuff is.

Me personally, I'd much prefer my kids listening to that than having their ear drums at risk of exploding from the shite that is dubstep. I best not get into a rant about that, though as we're already a bit off topic.

I am a bit of a goth myself but I am on the other side of the pond.

My daughter is one too, but I hide my stuff from her.

Cool. Luckily, my kids are either more into heavy metal, rap, or Justin Bieber, so I don't have to hide any of my cool stuff, or music from them.

The only stuff I hide is the frank Zappa. He's not ready for Catholic Girls or Bobby Brown yet.

What about "Titties and Beer" or "Why does it hurt when I pee?"

Not them either although I burnt him a compilation which included their cover of Stairway. Just for the giggle value.

Well, at his age, he's got plenty of time to get introduced to the more gritty stuff.
It might be even longer before it's wise introducing him to stuff like The Macc Lads, though...
