I think the option you've missed ("Pissing itself laughing and letting them get on with it.") is the most apt.

This is pretty much what I was thinking![:D]

One part of me would be smirking that he finally got his due.

The other part of me would be smarting from the national embarassment of having our ex Prez arrested.

Moonhead -> RE: If ex-Pres. Bush got arrested in another country, what action should U.S. take? (12/7/2011 2:17:48 PM)

You only elected him once. Maybe he's half an ex president?

tweakabelle -> RE: If ex-Pres. Bush got arrested in another country, what action should U.S. take? (12/7/2011 3:10:57 PM)

I'm not too sure what action the US should take if Bush the Dumber gets arrested for any of his many war crimes.

I do know that I will be throwing a wild celebration party! [:D]

PS: Can someone please add ex- Aussie PM Howard to the list of those to be arrested? Thanks. ....oh and make that 2 parties! [:D] [:D]

~FR~

The next question would be, would we allow this of any American President that had been indicted for International Crimes?

If you can't do the time then don't do the crime.

What if they were guilty and the action was expected and legal.

It isn`t impossible for an American President to fuck up that bad.

We all know it wouldn`t stick or he`s get out one way or another.

Just him getting arrested would be enough for me.

Two things would happen,world-class ass-holes like bush would be on notice and the rightists would be doing mass fits and pushing bills to rename food.

Never gonna happen but considering I never thought bush would fuck us over as much as he did, anything`s possible.

Get real folks,ex-Presidents of the United States do not get arrested.Case closed.
Now I am sure simply the thought of it as put smiles on a lot of folks faces, but let's face facts it just ain't ever going to happen.
Perhaps George and Dick decide to never travel....but they aren't getting arrested...just won't happen.

FR

Anybody who says that nothing should be done because its GWB but would do something if it were Blowboy is an idiot. Drones are as much against international law as waterboarding.

If memory serves there was a used to be vice president who was arrested and tried for treason.
Why not a used to be president?

Are you in favor of drones and waterboarding?

Are you in favor of drones and waterboarding?

It all depends on what party the president is in.

OrionTheWolf -> RE: If ex-Pres. Bush got arrested in another country, what action should U.S. take? (12/7/2011 7:37:32 PM)

Then that will be a long list of ex-Presidents. Current and last 3 administrations at least.

No way.  No ****ing way.

If anything WERE to happen (extremely unlikely), it would go down like this:

1. Bush placed under house arrest, with a watch over him.
2. The US sends a letter (in Harry Potter terms, a Howler), demanding his instant release.  I would expect some saber rattling, such as fortification of nearby US bases as a warning.
3. At that point, Bush would be released since the incarceration would have been for symbolic purposes only.
4. In the unthinkable event that Bush was not released, rapid UN sanctions.  If that didn't work, invasion.

What do you think would be the world reaction to the u.s. invading switzerland?

Come on kinkroids, the Swiss have been 'King Rat' when it comes to western corruption. It would surely be a very, very cold day in hell when any western nation invaded Switzerland. Think, nobody has, the Nazis didn't, the Soviets didn't and they've been 'neutral' for 1500 years and kept all our ill-gotten gains as protection.

I say send them to GITMO... indefinitely.
