For Mr. Romney right now, seas are choppy. But virtually everyone who has won in an open race for a presidential nomination in either party has endured far more than what Mr. Romney has to date.

He ain't seen nothing yet. His and several other's creative use of Jeremiah Wright in 08 leave the door open for the open and frank discussion of the contents of The Book Of Mormon. Not saying that I think it's a nice thing to do, but it's what Romney and McCain, and others engineered through their pundits once they realized Obama was no longer a joke.
And if you haven't read the book, I highly recommend you get a head start. It's some of the most entertaining absurdity I have read in my entire life.

You are, of course, referring to the IRS's determination in ONE of the charges against Newt Gingrich.

What about the other 83 charges of ethics violations? Is that why he never demanded a refund of the fines he paid?

Of course, his voluntary confession probably didn't help his defense.

This doesn't seem like it should be a big problem for the Tea Partiers. When OWS first penetrated mainstream media the following day the Tea Party had people on the news decrying a grass roots effort to reform government as evil. Odd, since they claim that's just what THEY are.
And a day later they made a failed attempt at running TV ads in select markets attempting to use the delusion of "protecting us" from OWS as a fund raising tactic.
Simply stated, any group that can pull shit like that off can make Newt out to be "the great reformer" or some BS title like that. For instance Pierre Boulle frames the Newt Character as "The Lawgiver" in his other great work after "Bridge On The River Kwai"

they were all thrown out.

After the Democrats brought 84 false charges, not a single one stuck...

It is good that we will be revisiting this sad chapter of Democratic partisanship.

“The Democrats filed 84 charges against me, 83 were dismissed,” Gingrich said.

Hahahahahaha... When you agree to resign the funniest things happen ... But SANCTIONS do not equate with 'CLEARED' or your colorful use of the word "false". In fact I think the use of 'false' would more accurately describe your account of history.
Don't you mean it went more like this:

Ethics sanctions Eighty-four ethics charges were filed against Speaker Gingrich during his term, including claiming tax-exempt status for a college course run for political purposes. Following an investigation by the House Ethics Committee Gingrich was sanctioned US$300,000 on a 395-28 House vote.[66]

Gingrich acknowledged in January 1997 that "In my name and over my signature, inaccurate, incomplete and unreliable statements were given to the committee". [67] The House Ethics Committee concluded that inaccurate information supplied to investigators represented "intentional or ... reckless" disregard of House rules.[68]
Special Counsel James M. Cole concluded that Gingrich violated federal tax law and had lied to the ethics panel in an effort to force the committee to dismiss the complaint against him.
The full committee panel did not agree whether tax law had been violated[69] and left that issue up to the IRS.[70] In 1999, the IRS cleared the organizations connected with the "Renewing American Civilization" courses under investigation for possible tax violations.[71][72]

Resignation Gingrich's official portrait as Speaker Republicans lost five seats in the House in the 1998 elections—the worst midterm performance in 64 years for a party that didn't hold the presidency. Polls showed that Gingrich and the Republican Party's attempt to remove President Clinton from office was deeply unpopular among voters.[75]
Gingrich suffered much of the blame for the election loss. Facing a rebellion in the Republican caucus, he announced on November 5, 1998 that he would not only stand down as Speaker, but would leave the House as well. Gingrich made this announcement only a day after being elected to an 11th term from his district. Commenting on his departure,
Gingrich said, "I'm willing to lead but I'm not willing to preside over people who are cannibals. My only fear would be that if I tried to stay, it would just overshadow whoever my successor is."[76]

That seems to do with her political persuasion, being a gay-rights activist, and seemingly a democrat.

Well, the Republicans aren't all that supportive of Gay Rights, so are you surprised she'd support her own interests.

Why do you think Gays and Lesbians aren't supportive of the Republicans?

Actually, there's a group called Log Cabin Republicans, which is a gay/lesbian group fighting to get the GOP to accept gays.

But the answer you wanted to hear is that fussing about gays is a part of the standard GOP platform.  With the exception of Cheney, who has a lesbian daughter.

No, I wasn't suggesting that. I was suggesting it was natural for her not to vote for Gingrich, in which case it wouldn't necessarily be a poor reflection on him that she isn't voting for her half-brother.

newty gets bashed real good in this one.

It`s absolutely obvious that fox(the GOPs thinking part)doesn`t like or want newt as the nominee of the party they think for.

Never mind what beck says.

Listen to what the judge says about newty.......OUCH!

Omg, when newty figures this out,he`s going to have a very big sour puss.

I wouldn't say that.  Two talking heads who want to call themselves conservatives who dislike Gingrich because they call him progressive.  They didn't even pick out any specific issue.  And Beck actually stated that the only difference between Gingrich and Obama is race.  Huh?

The only thing they said that transcended them saying "progressive is bad" is when they rightly stated that if the election is not issue-focused, Newt's personality will make him a loser against Obama.  Whether you agree with his policies or not, Obama's just a likable guy.  And Newt most certainly isn't.

Which is why it will be Romney/Rubio. Bank it!

Seems the harder line Republicans are being pushed aside to more realistically electable candidates as time moves on...

Yes, though there is some small chance that momentum could change that. Paul may well win Iowa with NG second. Then it will be close in New Hampshire. South Carolina becomes very important.
