Canada has a very valid point, so I don't blame them.

It's all a money game I believe really designed to inhibit up coming economies.

Pollution control is self motivated through health, therefore health is the measure of productivity.

No point anyone being in it while the worlds two biggest polluters stay out of it.

Yeah, and do you think for one minute that China and Brazil are going to invest a trillion dollars in anything that helps keep polution down?

Stay away from the "End Is Near" cults, they just want your money

Al Gore is making a killing off his "green" investments, for example

because of bush is the reason we are pulling out now
the ignorant arrogance from the Chinese and the US is what killed it
Plus Harper was NEVER a fan
SO try going towards the reality.
it needed the US and china to do SOMETHING, not ignore what is going on
Using Gore as the boogedy man is childish ignorance but shows the mentality of the deniers

I believe if something is right you do it despite what someone else does…the same goes for nations... The very reason Canada pulled out is the same reason Bush did…The plan would not be administered equally and that would put some economies at a disadvantage. The only way this would work is if all were governed by exactly the same rules and regulations be it industrial or third world economies.

You should look into this a little closer before using sarcasm... Under the proposed European plan China and India would not be held to the same standards as the US... This disparity is no different than the Canadian view...at least with the current more conservative government.

Now personally I want ALL nations to follow the same rules and regulations that would have been imposed on the US…I believe in global warming and if wrong I still believe in clean air for my grandchildren.

I'm sorry but regarding global warming: If global warming is an actual occurance and if the figures regarding the causes of the effect ("greenhouse gases", I believe they're called?) then it is laughable for a nation of SUV drivers should tell a nation of bicycle riders that they need to "step up".

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Unfortunately, the Canadian libs were too busy snarking in US politics to pay attention to who was getting elected in their own country. Whoops!

then you should be pissed the right govt which is the Liberal govt, PM Chretien in particular. He apparently signed kyoto without consulting parliment or even his own party.. And then the prick and Liberals sat on their hands, year after year, not lifting a finger to meet kyoto protocols. By the time Harper was elected, in a precarious minority govt, the goals were so far gone that they were unattainable.. I remember this.

"On taking office in 2007, Stephen Harper's government found their predecessors, for all their green rhetoric, had done little to cut Canada's emissions."

"He said meeting Canada's obligations under Kyoto would cost $13.6bn (10.3bn euros; £8.7bn): "That's $1,600 from every Canadian family - that's the Kyoto cost to Canadians, that was the legacy of an incompetent Liberal government"."

"Canada's current pledge is exactly the same as the US one - a cut of 17% from 2005 levels by 2020"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-16151310

Here is PM Chretien in action.. assault apparently is a ok.. (I personally think he was going bonkers/senile). I am not sure that this incident was the only time either..
