Michael, did you mean to post that in this thread?  I'm not sure how it applies.  Nobody's telling the OP he's not Domly.  He's not mentioning any vanilla girlfriends.

I suspect that Michael was projecting. That said telling a new poster to take advise they get on the internet with a grain of salt isn't a bad thing. There are certainly posters on here that shouldn't be giving out advise and fundamentally different schools of thought on how D/s should work.

Keep in mind that when a chick posts the doms all hump her leg...and compete to sound all dommy. When a guy posts they compete to show the girls how dommy they are by telling you you arent...

Read the forums, go to groups but remember this, you are young, be yourself, have fun and realize your vanilla girlfriends arw thw sort most of these guys dream about so throw your head back and have fun.
LOL I was thinking that reading through the posts.  I was picturing men in their boxers browsing castle realm (is that even on the internet still?) to find some good advice for the greenhorn.    LOL again you rock Michael.

That or maybe 95% of being a good Dom is personal experience, and doing what feels right on the inside.   I know coming from the bottom end---it feels right inside and if it did not--well no one could teach me.   And I personally don't buy all that crap about Dominant honor and shit---it's nice when a man is trust worthy and honorable BUT he is still a HUMAN BEING and not some immortal character from a fantasy world.

Have a bunch of the posts on this thread been deleted by the mods?

I'm having trouble seeing what SimplyMichael and fragilepieces are referring to?

I'll tell you, but only if you hump my leg first.

I think they are talking about experiences on other threads and other websites as opposed to things that have actually happened in this thread.

Does any DOM (Male or Female) have any tips or tricks for a newcomer to learn to be the DOM that is hiding inside?

Yep. Don't be a dick.

That simple.

My primary goal is to learn safe practices that do not severly endanger a partner's well being. Espically since I am highly interested in bondage and toy play. Any smoe can pick up a pair of cuffs or a blindfold; but to use those tools properly, effectivly without putting a sub in danger, and with the proper intent takes time, patience, and practice.

I am highly interested in any resoucres (Internet, books, vidoes) that can assist me in mastering myself and others.

Hi Wes,

Do go to munches. Fetlife is better for finding events than CM. Consider Massachusetts in addition to Maine.

http://bostonrope.com/ is Rigger Jay's group - I saw him at a NELA event and he knows his shit!

Boston Rope group is a monthly free-form rope gathering for those interested in Shibari, Kinbaku, tying damsels in distress or any other from of kinky play that involves rope.

If you said yes to any of these and you live in Boston or often visit the Boston area, this is a group for you.

They may have moved to South Hadley, which may be too far west for you, but may be able to hook you up with rope groups closer to you.

Best,

KK

Also try http://www.boston-tng.org/

TNG is a New England-area pansexual BDSM group for motivated kinky individuals age 18-35 that is dedicated to education, outreach, and an enriching social environment within the leather community.

take your time, go to clubs that are fetish clubs or swingers clubs, make your decisions based on what you see, you will know what sort of master you are when you see others doing it most of the time.

I'm pretty much gonna go with what everyone else has said... including the great first post part.
