I hate my middle name (Gertrude), and I have noticed that many other people hate theirs as well. So I was curious as to just how prevalent that attitude was. So, how about it, how do you feel about your middle name?

I really like my middle name, but don't go by it. Now my actual legal first name, I can't stand. It's like nails across a blackboard. However, I go by a nickname that I don't mind at all.

Ive gone by my middle name since day 1. I'm the Jr and as my dad went by his, it falls that I would do likewise.

I wasn't given a middle name!! When I got confirmed in the Catholic Church I took the name of my godmother, with a different spelling. I am an atheist and always have been, and getting up in front of that crowd of people and lying was a deeply traumatic experience for me. I took the name to remind myself that you can do a thing that pleases everyone but yourself, and go against everything you personally stand for, and still get through.

my middle name is a generic middle name. It means "ruddy complected"...blah..but I don't hate my middle name. It's just plain. I guess I'm just indifferent to it.

my middle name is my Mom's first name, which is part of why I like it. Also, because of my name/initials, I have the same initials as my Dad, which I think is kinda cool (have I mentioned that my folks rock?)
