That you would feel the need to so distort my views I must admit, I find rather bewildering. I defy you or anyone to find something I've written that would in some way lead you to think that I would approve, even tacitly, of a father raping a 12 year old girl. That's a distortion so enormous it beggars the imagination. I haven't seen anything from any poster on here that would lead you to such a conclusion. Clearly, we haven't been having a debate, discussion or argument...you have altered what I have written to fit some agenda of your own.

In what way do you come to that conclusion? I said you would be along to determine Lucy and I were wrong in judging this man, especially since Lucy was calling for a much harsher punishment.

Surely someone who can see the skewing of rape statistics in this country even with the knowledge that rape is one of the most under reported crimes here, would definitely believe we are over reacting.

After all, incest is by non-force, therefore no violence, therefore no rape.

I also hate that the KKK and the Westboro idiots are free to spew their hate at will. However, when the KKK talks about wanting to keep the races separate, their talk is protected. If they start talking about lynchings, their talk no longer has the protections.

This is the same with the college boys. Because they used the term "rape" they lose protection under the law. Does it necessarily make it a crime? Maybe, although everyone here screaming about them "getting what they deserve" would be sad to hear any crime would be a misdemeanor offense.

Thats the part I dont really get.

Saying which girl they would love to fuck would have found them a few girls who would have felt complimented.

Saying which ones that would rape.... they dont mind stagging it for a long time, apparently.

I just read the fist page of replies and seems as tho some ppl are over reacting. Poor taste yes but no worse than the vile howard stearn spews to a national audience "every day" I might add. Come to think of it Hustler magazine spews that much derogatory things about woman on a monthly basis. Their case <Hustlers> went all the way to the supreme court and they won regarding public defamation of character. There is even a movie about it "the ppl vs larry flynt. As a practical matter I dont see what the uproar is about. At the emotional level I understand ppl getting pissed off.

My guess is the reason some ppl are upset is they think it might promote rape. To that I say BS. No more than watching shootem up TV promotes murder. We all realize rape and murder are wrong.

What you seem to ignore, SB, is that Jerry Falwell was a public figure and open to parody (part of that situation). Hustler may be nothing but low-class porn, but it doesn't promote violence upon women (at least at that time) and it doesn't name names of innocent, nonpublic women and suggest that they are rapeable.

This isn't anywhere NEAR the same thing as "PvLF". This list was not "the press".

Not at all I didnt ignore that... The underlying issue was/is Freedom of speech. Hustler has in the past promoted violence against woman and "Chester The Molester" comes to mind. Which promotes something about which I cannot say as it deals with something we cannot discuss on here. But Im sure the you will be able to figure it out. The supremes to their credit have upheld the right to say what we/you want without recourse.

Self admitted law school dropout.. But Im sure if there was a "crime" here The DA would have charged them already.

I believe what SB is trying to say is that these poor guys are guilty of no more than poor judgment, and they really should be left alone now.

Women dont have to buy a Hustler magazine. Women dont have to listen to Howard Stern. Women do go to that college. The women who pose or read Hustler are doing so willingly. The women who appear on Howard's show do so willingly. The women on campus were not a willing part of this survey.

There are many differences.

I'm not disagreeing with you Tazzy. I also don't believe either Hustler or Howard Stern (that bastion of male gentility) has ever done something so stupid and revolting as to make a list of women they'd like to rape and share it with the public. If they had, I'd expect them to lawyer up almost immediately and wait for the fall-out.
