ORIGINAL: DomKen I've been mulling this idea over for some time. Decades ago the mainstream of the Republican party was charecterized by people often called "Main Street Republicans" which was a short hand way of saying small town business people, pragmatic fiscal conservatives with no strong position on social issues. Today there no longer seems to be such a movement. Why? Is it possible that when WalMart moved into small towns across America and destroyed the small businesses in those communities the mainstream of the Republican party died as well? You know DomKen I was thinking something similar to that! I was thinking "Is Oblunder killing the Democratic Party?" What do you think, a thread? My nephew who just graduated uni in May and his friends who all voted for Oblunder and are un/under employed. (No BMW's for them.) My nephew is driving a bus part time, one of his friends is working at a phone center, one of his (very) pretty female classmates with a degree in Bus Adm is a waitress in a restaurant, and they're the "lucky" ones because they have jobs, even if they're only,...." Obama jobs." He tells me it's abysmal for most of his classmates. And as his uncle I feel it's my duty to constantly *break his balls* for voting for Obama. He said that (he) and "all of his friends" voted for Oblunder, somehow,....... I don't think that's going to be the case this time around.
