He'll never officially run because of the financial
disclosure thing. He doesn't want the public to
know how much Money he doesn't have and
some of the murky things he's done to get the
money he does have.
Would there be people who would vote for him?
Sure, there are people who would vote for
David Duke or Ron Jeremy. He might even
siphon a few votes from the Republicans
but I doubt he'd be much of a spoiler.

Honestly, I have to wonder what his financial state is. The guy's been through bankruptcy, and last I heard he was heavy into high-end hotels, which can't be good in this economy. Perhaps he's doing those reality shows just for the $$$ to keep his head above water? That would explain this nomination hype as a desperate grab for PR to keep his TV show afloat, or perhaps bring in campaign cash which he can pocket once he 'withdraws'?

The wholle trump as a repub candidate idea is ludicrous, and that Rebubs are taking it seriously is a joke. No one could have less in common with the bible thumping, tea partying base of the republican party than Donald Trump

Trump has never been in personal bankruptcy. He also doesnt invest much of his personal assets any longer, much of his earnings are from attaching the Trump logo to other people's projects. $1.5 million a year for Apprentice wouldnt float him for very long.

Um, no. If any of the other GOP possibles (except Palin) switched parties and hinted at a third party run, I'd take it seriously. Trump has all sorts of motivations, but I honestly don't think he'd be a serious contender. Maybe he simply wants the ego stroking of an anticipated groundswell of support. Maybe he wants to kick the GOP in response to being boycotted when he tried to host the debate. I could see a GOP split off of business interests, now that the current GOP are so economically absurd.
