We're just not unique snowflakes, Rule.  People have issues, people have quirks, and being part of a special interest group just isn't all that special.  I get along just fine in life, and no one who doesn't need to know has any idea of what goes on in my kink life.

I guess I'm not your typical person on here then because I consider myself extremely normal. I don't see what I do or who I am as being special, special needs, unique or different in any way whatsoever.

I'm calling BS. I think ya need a good hard lashing and then a cock up yo bitch ass! [:)]

OMG... it is even worse than I thought. While I have not met that particular guy who runs that site, I do know a LOT of his friends who are here in my state.

Find out why its now closed. [:D]

  • Is this all bollocks and I just managed to interact with the spectacularly clueless? (I must admit I went about looking in just the right way to attract HNGs. I've learnt since then.)

Subs/switches in particular, I would be really interested in your own view/experiences.

Cheers Sea

Pure Bollocks IMHO (not attacking you, just stating my opinion). I hate to say this but it is an extremely poor job of stereotyping people. Submissives comes from all walks of life includind CEO's, CFO's, doctors, lawyers, extremely detail oriented scientists all the way to the cashiers at Walmart. Putting the generalization that a person must be submissive because he/she cannot organize their life is just plain wrong. I have no idea what the percentage is of submissives who are disorganized and I doubt that anyone has that statistic. But I can say I know more submissives who are by day the Alpha Dog at work and then at night turn into the submissive at home. I fall into that catagory. By day I am the boss, I manage 30+ people, budgets, multiple projects in mutliple time zones. Submission is a stress relief for me. Submission allows me to let go of a million tasks and concentrate on 1 thing, pleasing my Domme. Though I do admit I am a totally disorganized when doing the laundry :)

Is there a higher percentage of people lacking lifeskills who identify as submissives compared to the general population that lack life skills?

I'd argue that there's a higher percentage of single people trolling the interwebz who lack lifeskills as compared to the general population.

  • I've met more than a few, but I don't think it has anything to do with submission as a whole... Besides, I'm those folks worst nightmare. Sub to me and I will force you to be responsible.
Your last sentence sounds like some subs I've seen in a few of the forums; not all, just some.  They will not put their life in order until a dom forces them to do so.  Some say they make a bare living to keep the wolf from the door, but manage their money so that the wolf has his muzzle poking through the mail slot.

And all this time I thought it was about the demon in my shorts.

I mean, uh, I'm sure it takes all kinds. If you want a stereotype, look around. You will fill your list.

But look again, and you will see other folks.

[sm=idea.gif] I wonder....is there an exorcism fetish?

FrostedFlake -> RE: Submissive personality traits - rescue me from my lack of life skills? (1/3/2012 9:55:51 PM)

Stop pondering my shorts. No, wait... a little Exercise might do me a world of good!

Oh! ExorCISM! I think I'll pass. But thanks for thinking of me, I think.

slaverachel2Him -> RE: Submissive personality traits - rescue me from my lack of life skills? (1/3/2012 11:12:42 PM)

i have a FB group. i am a slave- and an RN. One of the women in the group is an RN and a Mistress. One is a nursing student and switch. Before i was in college- i was a masochistic bondage slut slave in waiting. No jobs. No idea of what i wanted to do yet except possibly over throw the govt. i really don't think it is about "release" as it is about orientation. i was always oriented this way and it didn't change whether i had a dominant job of which i've have several or submissive-service job of which i've had many though i WILL say, i think i preferred (more content in) the submissive jobs the most, but they don't pay well.

i have been "Dear Abby" to many, though i try to avoid that more.

i do think an M/s or a D/s to survive- whoever the "M" or "D" is, they must be at least as intelligent as the "s" to be successful, just to get the respect needed to dominate. i could NOT tolerate someone who couldn't think their way out of a paper bag as fast as i. If they do it faster- so much the better.

Regarding CastleRealm.  I confess to actually having liked the site, and having fond memories of it.  I'm fully willing to take my required public lashings for this.  I thought that Jade (I think that was her name) and her Master's devotion to each other was sweet and romantic.  So, anyway.  Let the floggings and lashings begin.

Never heard it called that before. Is that how you introduce it to potential partners?
"Hello I'm FF and (change to deep growly voice) THIS... IS THE DEMON IN MY SHORTS!"

that would be cool

Course the next line is, "Hey Babe, wanna help me exorcise it!"

fragilepieces -> RE: Submissive personality traits - rescue me from my lack of life skills? (1/4/2012 3:58:54 AM)

Sorry seababy not to hijack the thread but are you saying unless someone has a successful high paying job and enjoys the bounty of the Brady Bunch as family they lack life skills?

I work a decent paying temp job---yep it's dead end BUT I like it because once this assignment is done I can do something else interact with new people actually I am even thinking of working in my partners area the next time around because the temp agency is all over the state---I can work there part of the week because the pay is much higher there and keep my apartment here.

And as for loving family--well sure I have my children BUT growing up my family was pretty fucked up and far from loving normal family.

I think living the way I do ADDS to my life skills---being poor adds to lives skills---for example I can take what I have in the fridge and make a meal out of it that tastes good that no one else has tried making before. I can find the best deals for example I just got my daughter a lap top and the exact cell phone she wanted for Christmas for under $200.00

But you did say you were a fan of Castle Realm so now I sort of understand.
