I am glad you ladies were impressed by that landing, I certainly am.

You might also enjoy the video page associated with JetPhotos.com

JetVideos.Net  Although the St Marteen landing is hard to top.

If you think the photo is faked then here is a landing video
from there. 747 Landing at St Marteen

Good gravy!!! What is the clearance from the highway traffic there? What if there was semi coming thru at that time??

hlen5,

I don't think it would take a semi.  I think a loaded pickup could
be hit by the gear on that 747.

In all fairness that particular pilot did cut it about as close as possible.
There are other landing videos from there, most of them touch down
further down the runway.

But it is an impressive video!  Did you notice the people standing
and holding the fence?  Apparently that is considered great sport.

If you look at the still I posted in the lower right hand corner you will see this sign.

Here is another plane caught with the gear over the road so
you can judge just how much clearance there is and another sign.

Right GT.  It is Princess Juliana International Airport
(IATA: SXMICAO: TNCM) (also known as Saint Maarten International Airport)
serves the Dutch part of the island of Sint Maarten.   The beach is Maho Beach

You're right Greedy, but I meant what sort of regulations, if any, are there that governs clearances at an airport? Domestically or internationally?

I tried finding generic clearance restrictions to no avail.
