I had the same problem with it breaking and me being allergic to the metal in the clasp. I have a ribbon tied around my neck with the pendant on it. It doesn't come loose or break so it works best for me.

You all are missing the point of the question, IMHO. Imagine a pipe fitter who takes off his wedding ring for work. He has to do it for safety. Taking off a collar during work is the same. Knowing you are collared to a Dom/Domme is like wearing a wedding ring. You take it off if you have to, but you are still married. Or still collared.
