Well, here's the most important (quick) highlights;

Casey never reported her daughter missing. (until her parents found her car that had been abandoned and towed and it smelled like "someone died in there") Her father was former law enforcement.
When she was forced to report her daughter missing, she claimed that someone named Zanaida Gonzales was her nanny and had taken off with the child over 30 days earlier.
When she took the police to where she claimed Zanaida lived, there had never been anyone in that apartment by that name.
Casey spent the 30 days her daughter was "missing", partying with friends, going to bars, and even entered a hot body contest. She never mentioned to anyone that her daughter was missing.
Casey's attorney claimed that Caylee drowned in the swimming pool when both Casey and her father were at the home, and that they covered it up. (innocent mothers and grandfathers don't cover up a drowned child...they call 911 and beg for help)
When Caylee's body was finally found, (there were only bones and hair btw) there was duct tape wrapped all around her mouth and around the back of her head, with a little heart sticker where the mouth would be.
One of Casey's friends testified that the body was found in the area where she and Casey used to bury their dead pets when they were children. Apparently Casey also used to put a heart sticker on them as well.
Now...even if...we believe that the drowning happened, and that Casey was just trying to pretend everything was ok...why wrap duct tape around your baby's face (her nose and mouth) Why put a sticker on it?
She is evil. (imo)

Ever notice how rare it is that people are actually innocent if you ask the average member of the commentariat? If the DA goes to trial, they must be guilty. Makes me wonder why we even have trials - clearly we could just let the DA decide who's guilty and save a fortune in court costs.

We are and have been going that way and for a while. Aren't all of those people caged at GITMO, terrorists now rather than...suspects ? Haven't we (govt.) been targeting and now killing...suspects ?

It is a fine edge we dance on when allowing so much freedoms as we still do have while respecting the law and all of the while...trying to prevent criminal acts by those that who do not hold any if those civil values.

xxblushesxx -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/11/2012 7:03:13 PM)

Yes, of course. But when there is so much evidence, it becomes less speculation and more a non-avoidence of reality.

Winterapple -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/11/2012 8:10:41 PM)

FR
There are innocent people who have been put
to death, there are innocent people who
have died in prison, there are innocent people
languishing in prison. There have been
innocent people who were sent to prison
who have mercifully been released because
of DNA evidence. DA's have prosecuted
innocent people. Sometimes maybe most times
they genuinely believed them to be guilty.
But in some cases they were under pressure
to convict someone, anyone of a crime.
I'm of the I know it's not always popular
belief, that it is better for the guilty to
go free than for the innocent to be imprisoned
or die. That the innocent have died is one
reason I oppose the death penalty.
And yes of course the victims were innocent
to and the guilty who go free might go
on to other victims. But a legal system built
on the assumption if innocence and the burden
of proof being on the accusers is a good
thing.
The prosecution in this case did not prove
to this juries satisfaction that she was guilty
beyond a reasonable doubt. They did what
they were sworn to do. They made their decision
on the evidence that was put before them.
When your on a jury you have to be rational.
You don't vote on your hunches or bad vibes
you get from the defendant.
That said, I believe from what I know from
reading about the case in the press(some
of it tabloid) and various things I saw on
tv that she murdered her daughter.
I don't believe she had any helpmcommiting
the crime. Why did she do it? There are
psychiatry texts full of theories on why
mothers murder their offspring.
Parents kill their offspring more than strangers
do. All murder victims are more likely
to be murdered by someone they are at
least acquainted with than a stranger.
Armchair diagnosis: Extreme narcissist,
sociopath, fucked up dysfunctional family
dynamics but probably not a incest situation.
I dud read that Casey didn't want to
raise the child but had wanted to find adoptive
parents but her mother was strongly opposed
to this. Casey may have always resented
her daughter and obviously never bonded
with her.
Speculation as to what will eventually happen
to her. She will implode one way or the
other. She might end up in jail fir something
else like OJ, she might have a complete mental
collapse. She probably want make old bones.
She'll off herself in some way, I imagine.
Not intentionally perhaps but drug overdose,
car wreck, etc.
As for her celebrity. It's very distasteful but
the public has made her a celebrity. We even
contribute to it in a small way by posting about
her. Celebrrties can usually find a way to
cash in on their celebrity. As long as the public
is buying she'll be selling. And a narcissist does
no good attention from bad. They eat it all up
happily. So, yeah probably a sick murdering bitch
but free in the sight of the law. She can't be tried
for the crime again and that's a good thing to in
the big picture if things. But the public needs to
let it go and let her tango with destiny and meet
whatever fate is in store for her. Nothing will bring
Caylee back and nothing could be done to Casey
if she is indeed guilty that would atone for the
crime. Yes, it's upsetting to think of a murderer
going free. But is she really free? On some level
she's batshit crazy, that's a sort of prison itself.

Because of the thread on typos, etc and intelligence.
I made several typos in that post that I can't
edit because I'm posting via my phone.
The ones I catch on a quick read are

I believe she's setting herself up to be a cam-girl, phone sex star. (after getting off of probation)
She made a couple of little videos recently in which she made a point to name the "three things she now owns": a phone, a camera, and a computer.
Just watch and wait.
It will be like some sick real life version of Chicago. : (

Winterapple -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/11/2012 8:36:05 PM)

I think that's entirely possibly and wouldn't be surprised.
And she'll have takers and make money for
awhile anyway. I'm sure she has groupie/fans as
so many murderous celebrities do.
She 'll probably find guys who will marry her.
Sell the wedding photos to the tabloids.
And worst of all at some point she'll probably
have another baby.
But I do think it's all eventually going to
end badly for her.

Winterapple -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/11/2012 8:38:42 PM)

Forgot to mention the inevitable porn movie(s) and
sex tape.
Hefner has said he won't put her in Playboy but
Flynt or others might.

Kana -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/11/2012 8:53:44 PM)

Just throwing this out there for ya-a little social exercise.
In Baltimore (Where I live), the police have about a 60% clearance rate on homicide.
Now, being charged with homicide doesn't mean the case is worthy of going to trial, just that the cops think they've found their man- of that 60%, somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3 will actually be found worthy of being taken to trial. Split it and call it 58% to be fair.
So right off the bat, your average murderer has over a 50% chance of not being charged, or having the charges dropped. Conviction rates vary, but as of two days ago Baltimore homicide convictions (Including pleas) had risen from 64% to 71% (B-more juries are notoriously biased towards the defense. The ridiculousness of Law and Order and CSI ain't helped much either, but that's another story.).
Which means that of 100 B-more killers, 24.7 will actually do jail time.
And of those, the average time sentenced will be 10 years, with average time served running between 6 and 8.
Something for folks to think about.
Considering that most murders in the city are tied to the drug game, who says crime doesn't pay?

Casey Anthony is nothing special.

xxblushesxx -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/11/2012 8:57:50 PM)

She's something different though.
She's a natural liar. By that I mean she will lie even when she knows she's going to get caught.
She told the police she worked at Universal Studios and had been when Casey disappeared. They didn't believe that (they knew she had not worked there for some time) but she insisted it was true. They said "let's go then", and proceeded to drive her to Universal. They went to several offices before she finally gave in and admitted she hadn't worked there during the time she said she did.

Everyone lies to cops.
It's rule #1 of the cop lexicon. They (Not cops, the people) all lie. They lie with cause. They lie w/o cause. They lie to cover up for others. They lie to cover up for themselves. They lie cuz they're nervous. They lie because they're scared. They lie because they hate cops. They lie just to stay in fucking practice.
I'm not taking her side, or taking a stand on her guilt or innocence, just laying out the base facts-in modern America, murderers stand a very large chance of getting away with it.

Hey, Amy Fisher is a porn girl & feature stripper now... I think its in the manual that young semi-attractive murderers get in jail/prison..

1) get in penthouse or hustler or whatever mag will pay you big $ to be nekkid for first time
2) do porn, even if its just G/G or better yet with someone who is a dead ringer for your victim (not good idea in this case tho)
3) do the lower end porn mags
4) become a feature stripper (or in caseys case... a sadistic psycho dommy mommy $ adult babies)
5) once $ dries out from all that shameless narcissistic pandering, go to the bunny ranch until your twat wears out

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/12/2012 5:27:56 AM)

What about this scenario. What if the reason she was partying etc after her daughter disappeared was that she had blocked out the whole fact of having a child? If it's true that she wanted to give Caylee up for adoption but her mother vetoed it. That doesn't speak to either guilty or not guilty but could explain her behaviour during the month after Caylee disappeared.

Fire

xxblushesxx -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/12/2012 5:34:53 AM)

It could, and it's sweet to want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I believe the answer is much simpler than that.
The child was in the way of her fun.
Plus, no...because people had been asking her where her daughter was and she said she was with Zanny. How does she block out the fact of having a child, but make up lies to cover up the fact that her child is missing?

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/12/2012 5:39:16 AM)

You are misunderstanding me Blushes. I'm not saying she's innocent but rather that she may have had a break with reality and blocked the very existence of her daughter - possibly after killing her. which could explain her partying after Caylee disappeared.

Fire

ETA: okay she said that but wasn't that after reporting her missing?

Not only that, but a verdict of "Not Guilty" is not the same thing as saying she is innocent. A verdict of "Not Guilty" means that the prosecution didn't prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. It means the DA and his team sucked at their job. I highly doubt that there were many jurors who actually thought she was innocent. They knew she did it, but the DA didn't give them enough hard evidence to convict on.

xxblushesxx -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/12/2012 6:08:06 AM)

But then, why would she lie about where Caylee was during her partying phase? If she forgot Caylee ever existed, then wouldn't she ask the people what they were talking about rather than make up a story about a non-existant nanny? That doesn't make sense.

TheFireWithinMe -> RE: I'm tired of hearing about this bitch (1/12/2012 6:11:10 AM)

I'm just speculating which is all any of us can do given that none of us really knows what happened. Yep she does appear guilty but then so have many who didn't actually commit the crime.

No. People talked to her before that...that's why no one was worried at first. She told everyone her child was with the nanny.
