Sanity -> RE: Should a presidential candidate be required to be a military veteran? (1/11/2012 8:19:46 AM)

No, the birthers at least had the Constitution on their side, Obamas stonewalling against proving the Constitutional  requirement only fed the conspiracy theorists - which, having no substance on his side, was precisely what Obama wanted. A diversion...

Maybe if Obama had military experience he would have half a clue what it takes to actually lead eh? And he wouldnt have to rely on such deplorable tactics

I'm talking about BIRTHERS. A wee bit of comprehension on your part would help matters or are you being deliberately obtuse again?

The Dan Rather types? Yes, totally ignorant, for one need not show ones discharge papers

he showed his BC, FACT
they didnt believe him
How do they have the constitution on their side when they have been denied their bullshit for the past 3 years?
Does the constitution or LAW say anything about believing forged docs??
BTW why is this about Obama again, we already know he didnt have military experience, he didnt even have to "fudge" it, unlike many others it seems.

Oh, the constitution on their side?   The fact is most of the teabaggers wouldnt know a constitution if it hit them in the ass.

He is and always was in compliance with the constitution.

He proved the requirement to the satisfaction of the electoral college and the US government.  And that was way back in the day.

You mean like Reagan who spent his military time making war training movies?

Sanity -> RE: Should a presidential candidate be required to be a military veteran? (1/11/2012 8:47:13 AM)

On top of his military experience (which far outshines Obamas military experience) President Reagan also honed his leadership skills as the Governor of California and as the president of the Screen Actors Guild, and so on

Reagan didnt have to rely on Obama-style parlor tricks for anything, by any stretch of the imagination.... [:D]

Yeah, I need to get a gander at old 'Dutch' Reagans birth certificate.
Lyin fucker said he was of Irish heritage, we know there is something unconstitutional here.

So, Osama bin Laden dead, somali pirates dead to a man, several other al Queda dead.....why are those deplorable tactics, is it only because no republican could get it done?

Lucylastic -> RE: Should a presidential candidate be required to be a military veteran? (1/11/2012 9:03:34 AM)

Far outshines Obamas Military experience?
LMFAO
he hsnt any, he hasnt pretended to have any, so that is moot.
Truly grabbing at straws is funny to watch

We arent speaking of anything beyond military requirements, Sanity. Stay on topic. Reagan spent his whole career state side, most in California, making training videos. Exactly how does that qualify as leadership abilities?

FDR didnt serve at all. Was he unfit to be President?

Bush 2 served in the Air national guard. Great leadership.. not.

Jimmy Carter, 7 years in the Navy reserves. Served two terms as a Georgia State Senator and one as Governor of Georgia. Great leadership? Historians would argue with you.

Nixon, 3 years Navy. Previously served as a US representative and senator from California

Do you really want to go there? Are you so sure you want to place military and previous governmental experience as "qualifiers" to the Presidency?

If the Birthers had actually read the constitution and applicable law, they'd realize they were idiots.

As for war experience, by your logic, Gore and Kerry both had superior qualifications to Dubya. I mean at least they got within 10,000 miles of a bullet fired in anger instead of using Senator Daddy's pull to stay stateside.

Birthers and assorted other Right Wing nutbags are Obama's greatest hope of winning in November. You folks are playing right into his game plan by scaring off the independents who are the key to the election.

I've been joking that I'm voting for Jimmy Buffet......

Do it. Only two things are important. First that you vote. Second, that you do not vote for an ass or an elephant. It is the only way that the folks that have had enough of the partisan bullshit can register their displeasure. Remember, there are usually enough non-voters to swing any election if they all turned up. If everyone who thinks the system is broken votes this way, we might be able to reestablish our democracy without violence.

Damn. That was pretty gullible of those birthers to fall into his trap like that. Wonder how he got them to bring it up in the first place? He's one clever schemer, that's for sure.

I will check with the technical staff to see if there is a glitch where a topic of "Should a presidential candidate be required to be a military veteran?" , actually takes me to a discussion about birth certificates when I click on it, but until then here is the OP:

I was reading another thread about Ron Paul and Newt Gingrich and I was thinking that if presidential candidates were required to be military veterans maybe , just maybe we could by-pass the "deutch bag" factor.
What type of "honor" does someone like Newt Gingrich or Bill Clinton bring to the table never having served in uniform?
And, (I love this!) they're always throwing around the word, "leader" or "leadership" all the time!
Is being a little league coach considered "leadership?"
They don't realize that being president is a management job.
If you want real, fully involved, harsh leadership experience then join the military. That's where leaders come from.
Leaders are afraid too but they do their jobs sometimes under extreme conditions.
If you wanted to go into politics why wouldn't you want that experience behind you?
Wouldn't you trust a Master Seargeant in that job before someone like Bill Clinton or Barak Obama, Newt Gingrich et al?
What say you?

Thanks everyone!

That almost always happens when the flight is diverted through Idaho. There's something at the borders that causes all the position and direction indicators to totalglitch. And there are always a couple passengers who start glitching, too (likely a combo of thin air/alcohol [8D]).

An astute observer will note that, regardless of the flights origins or destinations, it is always Obama's fault. It's Groundhog Day in the Twilight Zone and Kirk has gotten the Enterprise looping again.

Definition: infinite loop: see loop, infinite.
