Why?

Tazzy, don't tell anyone I told you this but those cities are known for voter fraud.
And,.....they're not "republican cities."
Google it, I'm sure you'll have enough reading to keep you busy for two weeks!

Six weeks tommorow without a cigarette!
How are you doing?

Pft... fell off the wagon for a few moments... but right back on. Harder to quit than it was to learn.

As to the fraud, I did as you suggested. I plugged in Chicago, and the following came up...

http://dailycaller.com/2010/10/22/cook-county-voting-fraud-could-pose-threat-in-illinois-senate-race/

Yep, voting fraud...

“This past spring, two election workers were prosecuted by the State’s Attorney General and convicted of vote fraud for violating voter privacy by supervising voters as they completed ballots,” a memo from Cook County’s director of elections, Jan Kralovee, says.

--------------

Here is one.... The other in the story was not voting,

Raymond Carillo, of Hammond, has pleaded guilty to one count of voting in a precinct in which he did not reside, a Class D felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced October 3, the attorney general reported. Carillo was a health inspector with the City of East Chicago when he was charged in August 2006.

Ashley Dunlap, of East Chicago, has pleaded guilty to one count of aiding the fraudulent application of a ballot,

-------------------

Then this story.....

Fighting Voter Fraud in Illinois and in America

During the election cycle leading up to the 2010 General elections, Sharon Meroni, Executive Director of Defend the Vote (DTV), began researching how Illinois screens for the citizenship of candidates running for office. What she learned is that while both the US and Illinois Constitutions require candidates for office to be US Citizens, Illinois does not enforce the Constitutional mandates in their election laws.

http://www.redstate.com/chicagobluesgirl/2011/10/21/fighting-voter-fraud-in-illinois-and-in-america/

----------

To be honest, what I see, with the exception of one, is the workers themselves commiting fraud on many levels.... or there are claims that have nothing to do with a voter, as in the case of citizenship screens.

Good point.  He's on probation from the Landrieu stunt.  Here's hoping he gets a cell this time.

DomKen, have you ever been to Chicago, N.Y.C., Boston or Philidelphia?

What do any of these cities have to do with the topic?

Are you accusing that each of these cities holds voter fraud higher than 0.00001% of the time? By all means Mr. Conservative.....GIVE US THE BURDEN OF EVIDENCE. That's the primary problem conservatives/Republicans have with voter ID laws: huge assumptions based on little evidence. In order for voter fraud to be ANYWHERE in the same universe as conservatives/Republicans claim, would have to involve a very complex organization of people (like in the thousands, if not tens of thousands). Wouldnt someone mention this to the FBI sooner rather than later?

Its funny, you rant and rave against the theory of climate change (for example), with the massive amount of evidenced gathered so far and tested numerous times over as being false. But argue that there must be massive fraud taking place in four US citizens based on NO EVIDENCE. How exactly do you justify this without sounding insane or a conspiracy theorist?

Joether, you could be walking down Boylston St and a guy would come up to you and ask for a match and ten minutes later you'd realize that your belt was missing.

Tazzy, look up "James Michael Curley". There's been books written about him.
Boston alone would keep you reading for two weeks!
And look up the Teamsters and Longshoremen and democratic politics in Boston.
But, you'll only find maybe 5% of what they do.
Sorry for the thread swerve.

Folks did all kinds of crimes 60 years ago..........So what?

WTF does that have to do with crimes committed today?

How do crimes committed half a century ago have any bearing on or excuse, crimes committed today?

This logic needs to be explained.

Tazzy, it was James Michael Curly in Boston who coined the phrase; "Vote Early and vote often!"

Tazzy, I just googled "James Michael Curly" and there's *ten pages* of stuff on him!
Why can people "not find" things in google when they're trying to argue with you?

I don't know about the big cities, but here is a fraud case from a smaller town in NY state,

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/12/21/officials-plead-guilty-in-new-york-voter-fraud-case/

Voter fraud exists, and it is not something that is unique to one party or the other. Voter fraud is all about getting or keeping power. And most politicians out there will do whatever they think they can get away with to stay in office and in power.

Now, personally, i see no problem with requiring some form of ID to vote. However, the ID can not cost the individual voter anything (no fees or charges to get one) and the only requirements have to be the same as what would be needed to vote legally.

We also need a better review process for absentee ballets, as a lot of fraud happens with those.

Owner, because that's when it origionated and continues to this day?
Massachusetts is the most crooked state right after Louisiana.
And look at *CHICAGO!* "Ward Captains" who crack heads and reward people with city jobs for votes. Chicago is *famous* for political corruption! Haven't you ever heard the phrase; "It's the Chicago way!"
I grew up in the Boston, Mass area so I know how crooked it is! The Unions control a lot in that state. And if your brother-in-law wants a job "on the city" or in one of the unions "*our guy* had better fuckin' get elected!"
And I served with guys from Philadelphia in the Navy and they said it was the same there. "If "Charlie" gets elected you get a job on the city." Bribary.
And there's the black panthers preventing people from voting.
You ought to get out more.
