SexyThoughts -> RE: How common would you say the BDSM lifestyle is? (1/13/2012 4:35:39 PM)

BDSM vs Vanilla is so hard quantify as to make any survey more a perception test, not a lifestyle marker Mainstream "sexy" vs unusual "kinky" has an evolving, porous border What's sexy vs kinky these days? Is it showing appreciation by smacking someone on their fine arse, and getting a blushing smile? Blindfolding someone before sex? Melting chocolate onto someones genitals, then licking it off? Teasing as foreplay? Tearing off their clothes, throwing them on the bed, holding them down, fucking them, silencing any of their outrage with a long kiss. You know, vanilla romance novel style? Handcuffing someone naked to a tree and getting the hottest girl at the party to write happy birthday on their body. While everyone watching sings along? An expat telling a servant to enjoy blowing them, or lose the job that's stopping their family from starving? A blackmailer getting sex for silence? A boss squeezing unpaid overtime from a employee? Wearing latex fetishwear clubbing for how it looks, not what it represents? Britney Spears wearing a sequined bondage harness on her concert catwalk? 98% of people put down in surveys that they have a sense of humour. Do you think 98% of other people try to make you smile? I'd put more faith in a novelty handcuffs per capita survey, than asking people if they're kinky or not. :)
