The action they took, just like the others, was to send Congress Tea bags... one who does it a tea bagger.

Im sorry if you do not like the term, its definition, or what its other use is, that should have been taken into consideration when they employed the term Tea Party and used the political action of sending tea bags to members of Congress. They thought they were being cute, they ended up embarrassed.

You are entitled to your opinion. But broad political attacks are not treated the same as personal attacks on these boards. Its the nature of politics.

I ask for two things here... no racial slurs.. and I will report one anytime I see one.

And respect the office of the President. You dont have to like him, but he was elected by the majority of our voters. No different than Bush. They have a last name, they should be properly used.

Other than that, its a lost cause. And the Preseident's name is a lost one too. They are political figures, they are open to ridicule.

The Tea party is a political movement, they are also open to ridicule.

Fox News Viewers are the Most Misinformed: A Seventh Study Arrives to Prove It and Vindicate Jon Stewart!

Two of my most popular posts here at DeSmogBlog were a pair of items documenting 1) just how many surveys have found Fox News viewers to be more misinformed about factual reality and 2) taking PolitiFact to task for giving Jon Stewart a “false” rating when he pointed this out.

Stewart wasn’t wrong, PolitiFact was.

In these pieces, I identified 6 separate studies showing Fox News viewers to be the most misinformed, and in a right wing direction—studies on global warming, health care, health care a second time, the Ground Zero mosque, the Iraq war, and the 2010 election.

I also asked if anyone was aware of any counterevidence, and none was forthcoming. There might very well be a survey out there showing that Fox viewers aren’t the most misinformed cable news consumers on some topic (presumably it would be a topic where Democrats have some sort of ideological blind spot), but I haven’t seen it. And I have looked.

There really does seem to be a “Fox News effect,” then, and one that is playing a central role in driving our political divide over reality in the U.S. And now comes a true tour-de-force seventh study showing that Fox News viewers are the most misinformed, this time once again about global warming.

I cant tell you which fox viewers Im thinking about specifically because that would be classed as a personal attack.

An earlier version of this article misstated the name of a Denver Broncos running back. He is Lance Ball, not Leonard Ball.

Fox News airs altered photos of NY Times reporters

During the segment, however, Fox News featured photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe that appeared to have been digitally altered -- the journalists' teeth had been yellowed, their facial features exaggerated, and portions of Reddicliffe's hair moved further back on his head. Fox News gave no indication that the photos had been altered.

After putting up the photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe, Fox & Friends also featured a photograph of Steinberg's face superimposed over that of a poodle, while Reddicliffe's face was superimposed over that of the man holding the poodle's leash.

Below is a screenshot of Fox & Friends featuring the photo it used of Steinberg, with the original photo on its left. Comparing the two photos, it appears that the following changes have been made: Steinberg's teeth have been yellowed, his nose and chin widened, and his ears made to protrude further.

Owner, what I'm suggesting is that "free speech" precludes the government from restricting what you can say. But you knew that :) And yes, to an extent, the government does protect consumers, but surely you don't think "new and improved" is a matter of fact, is it? Suppose I don't think it's an improvement? Is it then a lie?

The issue with Fox News (or MSNBC) is who's determining that something is a lie? And are we talking about outright lies, or opinions?

Here, free speech means that Nazis can march in Skokie, saying what they want. And gay people can march in the street saying what they want. Political speech is just that, and as such is a matter of opinion. You can no more say that everything that comes from Fox is a lie anymore than you can any other news organization.

If they are going to use the word "news" in their name,truth in advertising should mean they aren`t trying to purposely mislead.

It should be a fiduciary responsibility,like a lawyer to client,Dr. to patient or banker to depositor,to do the right thing,not necessarily to most profitable/advantageous thing.

This reminds me of the false argument that hate-speech laws somehow prevent law abiding citizens from saying hateful things.They don`t.

THe CRTC denied a license to a corporation. the CRTC do not have the POWER TO ABOLISH FREE SPEECH .Which is what you are claiming.

Under the Charter, Only people physically present in Canada have numerous civil and political rights. Most of the rights can be exercised by any legal person, (the Charter does not define the corporation as a "legal person")

How can there be hope for the future of our species when so many willingly applaud fascists as they march through the gates

If one disagrees with certain speech thats one thing, and the answer to such disagreeable speech is more free speech, or open debate

Not government dictates determining who may speak and who may not, or what views are or are not allowable

This has nothing to do with lies, thats purely specious and many other broadcasters (including the BBC and NPR) have been identified as irresponsible

So the "truth" over "lies" isnt the point here. The real point is that leftists cannot stand the free and open exchange of ideas, and for reasons that are fairly obvious to the diligent observer
